[Anonymous]📝 Good evening from Ålesund! ✨ Before we board our @Hurtigruten ship and resume our voyage towards the Far North, I'll take you for a stroll in the city's most elegant setting: the banks of the picturesque Brosundet Canal.In these evening hours, when the wind dies down and the sun goes down, the water transforms into a perfect mirror.Scroll through the photos to immerse yourself in this magical atmosphere, where Norwegian history is evident in every corner:🏰 A stone castle: Look at the imposing palace at the center of the scene, with its cylindrical turret and pointed roof. It's one of Ålesund's finest examples of Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) architecture, built after the great fire of 1904. It looks like something straight out of a Nordic fairytale!🛡️ Viking Echoes: The scene-stealing detail is undoubtedly the splendid wooden boat moored in the foreground. With its unmistakable curved ends, it's a perfect replica of ancient Viking ships, a silent and proud tribute to the maritime roots of this people.🌉 The heart of the city: Brosundet is not just a canal, but the true nerve center that divides the two main islands on which Ålesund stands (Aspøya and Nørvøya), connected by the bridge you see in the background.⚠️ Tonight's Photography Tip: In city shots like this, the presence of water is your best ally. I took advantage of the Golden Hour light, which "warms" the gray stone of the buildings, making them feel welcoming. Among the elegant Art Nouveau buildings, a bronze figure so full of life that it seems to literally walk beside you emerges.Scroll through the photos to discover the youthful and tireless soul of this coastal city:📰 The Avisgutten (The Newspaper Boy): This splendid statue depicts a young newsboy intent on selling his stack of newspapers. It's a tribute to an era when news wasn't carried on smartphones, but was shouted on street corners, bringing the world into the hands of citizens. 🔎 Historical details: If you look closely at the second photo, you can clearly read the name of the newspaper under the boy's arm: it's the Sunnmørsposten, Ålesund's historic local newspaper founded in 1882 and still on newsstands today!🏃‍♂️ Pure dynamism: The sculptor has masterfully captured the movement. The long stride, the forward weight of the body, the well-worn boots, and the arm stretched upward (photo 3)... it almost seems like you can hear the boy's voice announcing the morning edition!⚠️ This morning's photography tip: Photographing statues in the city is difficult because the background (shop windows, passersby, tables) creates a lot of confusion. Here I used the bokeh effect. By opening the aperture (or using my smartphone's Portrait mode), I kept the bronze sharp and transformed the background into a soft splash of color. [Anonymous] 📝 Good evening from one of the most elegant cities in Northern Europe! ✨ Tonight I take you to the beating heart of Ålesund, along the banks of the picturesque Brosundet canal. While our Hurtigruten rests in port, the late afternoon golden light turns water into a liquid and perfect mirror. Scroll through the carousel to get lost among these hypnotic reflections and discover why this place is unique in the world: 🔥 reborn from the ashes: those colorful buildings with elegant shapes hide a dramatic story. In 1904, Ålesund was completely destroyed by fire. Instead of giving up, the citizens rebuilt it entirely within three years following the most popular style of the time: the Jugendstil (Art Nouveau). Today it is considered one of the world capitals of this architecture! 🐟 Ancient Warehouses: Do you notice the doors on the ground floor of the buildings (like the yellow one on the right), which give directly to the water? Once they were warehouses for the processing of fish: the boats literally docked "in the living room" to unload the catch of the day! Past and present: the charm of Brosundet also lies in contrasts. Along its docks coexist peacefully ultra-modern and fast black inflatable boats (the rib used for safari in fjords) and romantic vintage wooden sailing ships with tall trees. ⚠️ The photo tip for tonight: the secret of shots like this is to shoot during the Golden Hour, just before sunset. At this moment the sunlight is grazing and warm. This not only incredibly saturates the colors (yellow and red look literally bright!), but also diminishes the reverberation of the sky over the water, allowing the reflection of the buildings to look sharp as in a mirror. by @gargio76

[Anonymous]📝 Good morning from Ålesund! ☀️ Today we're stepping off our @Hurtigruten ship for a moment to stroll the docks of this beautiful city. Beyond its famous Art Nouveau architecture, Ålesund is a place that lives by the sea, and its streets are filled with tributes to those who have sailed this sea their entire lives.Scroll through today's carousel to get to know one of the harbor's most stoic inhabitants:🎣 The Young Fisherman: This statue represents the fishing soul of the Sunnmøre region. The southwest hat (the classic waterproof sailor's headgear), the proud gaze turned toward the horizon, and the ropes clutched in his hands tell a story of toil, courage, and respect for the ocean.🐦 The true masters of the city: Such solemnity, however, is promptly shattered by the true undisputed masters of Norwegian ports: the seagulls! It almost seems as if they pose on purpose, ironically reminding us that nature always has the last word (and has no qualms about "respecting" monuments!).🎨 The colors of time: Look at the close-up details of the hands and face (in the last photos). The oxidation of the bronze, combined with the salty air and the elements (and the "gifts" from the seagulls!), has created a wonderful green and gray patina that gives the statue a vivid, almost painterly texture. ⚠️ This morning's photography tip: This carousel is a great exercise in "Visual Storytelling." Never limit yourself to photographing a monument in its entirety. Get closer (or zoom in) to isolate the details: the tension of a muscle, the texture of a sculpted rope, a gaze. [Anonymous]📝 Good evening everyone from paradise on earth! ✨ Our voyage aboard Hurtigruten took us today to the most anticipated and dreamed-of place of the entire journey: the majestic Geirangerfjord, the undisputed king of the Norwegian fjords.Scroll through this carousel to immerse yourself in a landscape that seems to have come straight from a fairytale (or the set of Lord of the Rings!). Here are three reasons why this place will leave you breathless:🌍 A World Heritage Site: It's no coincidence that this fjord was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2005. Its rocky walls, rising almost vertically to 1,400 meters above sea level, create one of the most dramatic and pristine natural landscapes on the planet.🚢 A Matter of Proportions: Look closely at the large cruise ship moored at the bottom of the fjord (in the first and second photos). It looks like a tiny toy model, right? That's the only way to appreciate the titanic scale of these mountains!🏔️ Emerald green and snow white: The color contrast is unreal. Even in the height of summer, while the slopes shine with a lush, intense green, the highest peaks in the background (as seen in photo 2) retain their snow and ice peaks.⚠️ Tonight's Photography Tip: How do you photograph immensity? Here, the jagged coastline gives way to dizzying mountains covered in a green so intense they seem painted.In today's shot, I show you one of the most classic and mesmerizing sights of the Norwegian fjords: a waterfall that bisects the forest.Here are three things to know about this primordial landscape:💧 Norway's Silver Veins: Norway is home to some of the highest and most spectacular waterfalls in the world. During the summer, melting snow on the highest peaks and frequent rainfall create thousands of these temporary or perennial streams, which cascade down the steep sides of the fjords.🌲 A green oasis in the North: Looking at this lush forest, it's hard to believe you're at such high latitudes! This is thanks to the Gulf Stream, which moderates the climate of the Norwegian coast, allowing the vegetation to literally explode during the long, bright summer days.🚢 Sailing the "Great Fjord": The Storfjord is a full 110 km long and is the main artery connecting the ocean to the inland areas. Its solitary presence in the frame is crucial: it gives us the exact proportion of the enormous and majestic mountains surrounding us. 🪞 The magic of flat water: How does the sea stay so calm? It's the secret of fjords. As long, narrow stretches of sea wedged into the mainland, they are naturally protected from the strong winds and currents of the Atlantic Ocean. In Norwegian, it means "Reduced speed." The voyage to the Great North officially begins!It is precisely at this exact moment, as we set sail, that Bergen offers one last, spectacular view. In this evening's shot, I show you the city seen from the water: a marvelous and chaotic puzzle of red roofs, dormer windows, and colorful facades literally climbing one over the other. Here are a few interesting facts about this postcard-perfect view:🧩 An urban mosaic: What from the land looks like a maze of steep streets, from the sea transforms into a wall of color.
