THIS DECEMBER WILL BE DIFFERENT… 💜💜💜 Hello everybody, it’s the George Michael Singers! 🎶 We hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend. It’s a brand new week and with it comes a new tour poster! Hope you like it! XXX But more importantly… have you got your tickets yet?!?! Have you checked the dates? Have you seen whether we’re coming to a beautiful church or cathedral near you? As we approach the 10th year anniversary of losing our beautiful boss, the late, great George Michael, we know this tour will carry an extra depth of emotion. It will be a chance to come together, to remember, to celebrate his extraordinary music, and most importantly, to celebrate George. We want to share those moments with you. We want to see your faces up close. We want to hear you sing. We want to feel that incredible connection between us and you. And we want every evening to come from one place above all else… LOVE. ❤️ These will be intimate, heartfelt and deeply special evenings, up close and personal, filled with the music we all adore and the memories that mean so much to so many of us. So if you haven’t got your tickets yet… please don’t leave it too late, as two of the shows have sold out already!!! We want YOU to be there! 🎟️ Come and stand beside us. Come and sing with us. Come and remember George with us, come and share stories with us! Let’s make this December one to remember. We haven’t and couldn’t speak about George for many years! Shock, sadness and respecting his privacy! As time went on we were able to listen to his music again and by us all reconnecting,it encouraged us to open up to talk about the joy he gave us all!!! He’s blessed us with so much that it feels right to spread the love and by doing that we are keeping him alive in our hearts! Let’s keep sharing, talking and of course singing his incredible iconic songs!!!……love The George Michael Singers 💜💜💜 #georgemichael #music #songs #memories #moments by @garland.jo

Throwback Thursday!!!! Did you know I signed to George Michael’s label at the age of 21? The first night we met, we sat down playing records to each other (he asked me to bring my records as I used to DJ!!) and realised we had exactly the same taste in music. One of our favourites was the incredible Patrice Rushen. Fast forward a couple of years later and there I was singing “Sending you forget me nots…” by Patrice Rushen….on Fastlove!! Funny how the world works! Thank you George for believing in me, giving me the chance, and pretty much handing me a silver spoon into the music business. Forever grateful. ❤️ Thankyou to @lisa_j_johnson for this piccy!!!! Oh how I wish I took more pics!!! We were having too much fun to remember!!!! Happy Sunday Everyone! Just caught you all in time! My DJ name back in the day was Josie Blues and I used to play records in clubs like Maximus Soul Kitchen, the chill out lounge at Ministry of Sound and many more!! There was only a handful of females in that sector then! I’m dusting my vinyl off to play you some of the tunes that had the dance floor filled!!!!! Enjoy ❤️. #femaledj #music #soul #raregrooves #80sclassic by @garland.jo

ThrowBack Thursday!!!! It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these, but the VMA’s got me all melancholy watching all those performers singing George Michael’s songs…..I know a lot of you were not happy with some of them but it’s not an easy foot to follow!!! All due respect to each and everyone of you for representing……George was about community, helping each other and elevating new talent (he helped me when I needed it!!) So remember kindness is part of his makeup! So let’s continue THAT legacy along with all of his incredible songs! I’d like to take a moment to remind everyone that it was The George Michael Singers voices you can hear woven into songs like “Fastlove”, “Spinning the wheel”,”Father Figure”, “Outside”……..to name but a few!!!! We were there for over 3 Decades…..History you can’t take away from us!!!! A backing vocalists job isn’t an easy one at times!!!! We are their comfort blankets, we stood just outside the spotlight, we shared those stages, those studios, those moments of magic when a song comes together!!!! The George Michael Singers are stepping forward…..not to take anything away from the incredible legacy he left but to honour it in our words, our journeys, and his songs!!!! We would have loved to have been asked to be part of the VMA’s……,maybe next time!😜. To the Lovelies, the new lovelies who have found us along the way, and for all of you who keep spreading your kindness let’s keep his beautiful memory alive with joy in our hearts!!! This is a little picture of myself and George leaving Browns nightclub ( we had fun that night on the dance floor ) !!!! #backingvocals #georgemichael #thegeorgemichaelsingers #music #kindness @vmas Also another quick reminder!!! My face has been on MTV on George Michael’s video’s!! “Fastlove” and “Spinning The Wheel”!!!!!!! 💜💜💜 by @garland.jo
