๐Ÿ“ฃ Calling all epic fantasy readers ๐Ÿ“ฃ There's still time to become an ARC reader for my upcoming epic fantasy novel, Wolves of Empire, which releases on 16th November. โš”๏ธ Two commanders, once lovers, are forced to take to the field against each other when their respective empires declare war. A noblewoman in disguise hunts down a cabal of shadow-wielding assassins to prevent an even more destructive conflict. And a young bastard, abandoned by her father, awakens to earth-shattering magic, earning herself the attention of dangerous immortal factions. As a conspiracy ten thousand years in the making unfolds around them, these four unwitting pawns are drawn into a planet-spanning conflict. โš”๏ธ Wolves of Empire is the first in a planned series of 6, a multi-pov dark fantasy epic of approx 450 paperback pages. Kinda like the idea of teasing books by implying you'll hate them ๐Ÿ˜‚ Wolves of Empire is an upcoming epic fantasy novel that follows four members of the same fractured family as empires war, immortal monsters plot from the shadows, and apocalypse looms. Flawed these four might be, but they're all that stands between the continent and its destruction. They just don't know it yet. Based loosely on the Roman Empire, it's filled with massive battles, fraught politics, explosive magic, and buckets of blood (as well as a hearty helping of profanity and s*x for good measure). It also features: ๐Ÿ• armoured war dogs ๐Ÿ’˜ complicated romances โš”๏ธ war ๐Ÿช„ developed magic system ๐Ÿฉธ violence and gore ๐Ÿ—บ a world that feels alive ๐Ÿ—ก assassins ๐Ÿ‘€ multi-POV (4 in total) ๐Ÿ”ฅ fiery (literally) FMC ๐Ÿ›ฉ airship battles ๐Ÿชฝ superhuman immortals It's releasing on November 16th, but I'm currently looking for ARC readers who want a free e-copy (link in bio or DM me). #tropelist #epicfantasy #arcreaderswanted #writersofinstagram #darkfantasy by @garrison_writes

I swear this is the last post where I pretend I know what I'm doing ๐Ÿ˜‚ On today's agenda: how effective are Instagram ads for finding ARC readers? In my limited experience: very effective. It helps to have a solid foundation with an interesting initial post, but the ad helped me reach potential readers I might've otherwise never crossed paths with. Side note: if you're one of the 17 ARC readers who signed up through my Google forms, I've so far approved everyone so you'll have a copy of Wolves of Empire in your email somewhere. #instagramads #epicfantasy #arcreader #indieauthor #authorsofinstagram by @garrison_writes

Following on from my breakdown of my Bookbub Featured Deal, I thought I'd also break down how I'm doing the ARC campaign for my second novel, Wolves of Empire. I felt like I kinda fumbled the campaign for my debut, Acts of Deicide, and am very much learning as I go. What I can say with certainty so far: a Google form for ARC sign ups is proving far more effective than BookSirens, BookSprout, and NetGalley combined. With a month still to go of the ARC for Wolves of Empire being open, I've already found far more readers than I did for Acts of Deicide. If you've signed up via my form and haven't downloaded yet: check your inbox or your spam, bscause I've approved everyone so far. I'll be continuing to approve up until 15th November, so there's plenty of time to sign up if you fancy a free epic fantasy ๐Ÿ“š #bookstats #epicfantasy #arcreaders #arccampaign #indieauthor by @garrison_writes

I had such a hard time trying to pack in all the hype I want to shower upon this book, because Stone and Flesh by @tamara.s.harker truly deserves to be elevated alongside the greats of epic fantasy. This is a book that knows how to build a fantastical, nuanced, and detailed world ๐ŸŒŽ This is a book that enjoys developing an engaging and ethereal magic system ๐Ÿช„ This is a book that makes every single one of its characters, no matter how small their part, shine in their own way โš”๏ธ I've got a much longer review up Goodreads because I couldn't stop rambling about how fantastic this epic is! #bookreview #fantasyreview #indiereview #epicfantasy #indiefantasy by @garrison_writes

You can't really know a character until you know their Starbucks order, amirite? Just having a bit more fun with the gorgoues character art courtesy of @eurephora and @kiwipon and trying to work out why it's so funny that the pyromancer orders the McCrispy ๐Ÿ˜‚ Wanna meet these characters and work our for yourself why they'd place each of these orders? ARC sign ups for Wolves of Empire, the first book in an epic fantasy series, are still open (๐Ÿ”— in bio). #characterart #epicfantasy #grimdark #indiefantasy #indieauthor by @garrison_writes

When you write a book about people with skewed moral compasses, there's only one way it can unfold. The motto of my MCs? Be pretty, do crime. What better way of getting to know my characters than by spying on their Spotify playlists? ๐ŸŽต If something as fun as Spotify existed in my gritty, brutal fantasy world, then these are the top 6 songs for each of my 4 MCs. Wolves of Empire releases on 16th November in paperback and in KU, but there's still time to get it for free by signing up as am ARC reader. Meet the human wolves who give this book its name ๐Ÿบ Figured I'd be a good idea to have all 4 protagonists together in one post, because they all just look so badass together ๐Ÿ™Œ They were all made by the amazing @kiwipon, and here I treat you to an extra depiction of both Endarion and Estrid, 2 MCs I love so much, I had to commision art work on them twice ๐Ÿ˜‚ If you want to learn more about these 4 complex souls, there's still time to sign up to ARC read Wolves of Empire, which releases November 16th. #characterart #bookcharacters #epicfantasy #fantasycharacters #indiefantasy by @garrison_writes

Working my way through my birthday book haul, and it's time for something a little different with Armitage by @atlas_creed This is a murder mystery unlike any other, with a hearty helping of surreal, esoteric fantasy to flavour a killing spree that spans decades. I absolutley tore through this one, and can't wait to see where the story goes next! #bookreview #indiereview #paranormalmystery #murdermystery #indiefantasy by @garrison_writes
