One of my favorite core memories with my Dad is listening to the Rock Ola Juke Box in our game room, as a kid, and I still remember the first time my dad made me listen to Country Cookin’ by Lee Millsap. He wouldn’t just let me listen to music CASUALLY - he wanted me to pay attention - whether it was In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida or a Beatles album …or Country Cookin’ - but that particular song was a clever introduction to a whole recipe of musical instruments, thrown into a pot to create a country song, and it captivated me. It’s no wonder I grew up with an affinity for musical instruments - if it had strings, I was determined to learn to play it. Today is my Dad’s 75th birthday and that’s just one of the many things I’ve pondered today that he instilled in me from childhood - something I never fully appreciated until I matured into adulthood. Even Lexi’s affinity for the stage started with my Dad - when he and Mom decided to join the community theatre when I was a toddler. My dad was a great actor, and he passed that “bug” down to me and ultimately to Lexi. And who knows what else will travel down our family lines, and how far! Isn’t it sweet to pause and ponder the sweet generational family legacy handed down through things we can so easily just overlook? Thank you, Daddy, for your strong hand in making me the woman I am today! You are a man of honor who deserves to BE honored on your birthday! What a gift you are, Pop! Our family is blessed to have you as our patriarch. by @gary.bone2018

Sweetest day and dinner date with the Birthday girl (my Mama) and the love of her life (my Daddy)! I sure do adore these love birds, and today I was a little overcome with gratitude for a few things we sometimes take for granted: their relationship with each other, my relationship with them, how much we enjoy laughing, even when we’re stuck somewhere we’d rather not be, our whole family that still lives nearby and can (and wants to) take care of each other. My brother was out of town today but still managed to bless our socks off by secretly making sure our meal was covered since he couldn’t be here, in person. What a surprise! I love my family so much. I pray the Holmes family I’m raising grows old loving, honoring, cherishing, and truly enjoying each other as much as the Bone family I came from. It’s a true gift. by @gary.bone2018

TODAY IS A HUGE DAY!! It’s my LITERAL *Day One*s 50th Birthday today, and I just cannot believe it! Not everyone is blessed to have a MUCH MUCHHHH OLDER sibling who also happens to be their lifelong best friend and confidant, but I am, and I actually got a little choked up today when I thought about how grateful I am for the day THIS GUY was born. We share the same sense of humor, faith, drive for success, and commitment to personal development, and - while we are wildly different people, otherwise - those core similarities are a recipe for an absolutely priceless iron-sharpens-iron, fun-loving sibling relationship. Happy birthday to @clairebone !!! Not enough space on here to@say what all I would love to say. You are amazing, beautiful, smart, kind, loving, hilarious, a friend to everyone, an amazing daughter and on and on and on. I pray amazing things over you for this next year. First and foremost an even deeper relationship with Jesus! Lots of laughs and growth this year. Much adventure however that looks! Thank you for being patient with your dad and making us laugh all the time. We love you and can’t wait to see what this year holds for you. You’ve been trained well by your older bro and sister but you are definitely one of a kind!!! Don’t ever lose your zeal and love for life. Happy birthday beautiful Claire. I love love love you!!!!
