Max got to ride his Marlboro Rotax at the old Roberts Ranch last weekend, on track just him & Randy Mamola on matching bikes that were build for that track 30 yrs ago. It reminded me of when I rode a Marlboro Ducati at Valencia the day after Casey Stoner won the MotoGP title on it. Final photo for cuteness & also because it’s the same bike I still race now. If anyone’s bothered, the blue gloves I’m wearing on the Ducati were John Hopkins’ because I’d forgotten mine. I’ve still got them somewhere. by @gary.inman13
September: American visitors, lots of cafes, bit of football, some racing, The Surfrajettes, Little Barrie, Lenny, some DIY, quick visit to London, the Worship Moto Show. Smashing by @gary.inman13
We had a short (too short) visit from our Portland, OR friends @oldtooold & @docta_schboing Railway Museum ✔️ Haworth ✔️ York Shambles ✔️ Whitelocks ✔️ House of Trembling Madness ✔️ Elland Road ✔️ Mamselle ✔️ by @gary.inman13
Hey friends! It’s two weeks until the third edition of the motorcycle show I organise in Leeds. You should come. It’s called @worshipmotoshow & takes place in a former church called @leftbankleeds 12-5pm Sunday 27 September Tickets are £12 + booking fee (that I don’t receive) in advance. £15 on the door. by @gary.inman13
Had a ride into London to see the Deus (@carbyt x @mrwilley) exhibition at @oshgallerylondon The accompanying newspaper (not pictured, duh) was my favourite bit. It’s lovely. Exhibition runs for a while if you find yourself in north London by @gary.inman13
A visit to @trickettengland to meet Iain and collect one of the German kitchen bins he sells. I met Iain through @bother.mag. I was the editor, he wrote the advice section, my favourite piece in every issue. He’s a proper polymath. by @gary.inman13
Finally got myself a copy of this killer 7in. Thanks to @mick_p64 for transporting it from Rome for me. I bought it on eBay and had it sent to Mick ten years ago, to bring over next time he visited England. We both forgot about it until he found it last month. Thanks to @johnny.alpha.7 & @daveskooterfarm for introducing me to it many years ago by @gary.inman13
August, you smasher by @gary.inman13
Quick meet up with @tintinovici to visit Bradford’s Cartwright Hall to visit the @jimmoirart exhibition before it ends on Monday. Love the variety of his art, but the American Couples are something else.Tthen saw a Yinka Ilori piece, a Lowery and lot of other great stuff. And all free, (but I did donate, obvs) by @gary.inman13
@jennydontandthespurs were great last night. Jenny estimated it was their 1040th show as a band, and they played with grins and gusto, to an enthusiastic but thin crowd. Too hot, too skint? Not sure the reason for the poor turn-out. It was our first visit to the Trades Club, Hebden Bridge. Good venue that’s keeping prices real. If you get chance to see the band on this tour, please take it. They’re over from Portland, OR and deserve support. by @gary.inman13
July, some smashing bits but mainly house renovation by @gary.inman13
Finally getting to feel a bit like ours. Too much DIY and not much else recently. I should remember to prep and paint in winter, not summer. by @gary.inman13
