Taking pickleball way too seriously.
For absolutely no reason.

Funny how a plastic ball can expose you faster than years of self-reflection.

Ego. Patience. Frustration. Confidence. Excuses.

It’s all there.

I don’t study pickleball.
I study people.

What does your game say about you?

Are you playing pickleball like you’re playing with an old friend? 👀🏓

Good pickleball isn’t just about keeping the ball alive. Recognize the opportunity, create pressure and know when to finish the point.

Taking pickleball seriously. Myself? A little less. 💀

Pickleball is probably one of the easiest ways to meet people. You play together, laugh together, compete together, and sometimes spend hours on the same court.

But how much do we actually know about each other?

We know who’s got the best drive, who’s always late, who’s winning every tournament.

But we rarely know what kind of week someone has had, what they’re struggling with, or what’s going on behind that smile.

It’s easy to meet people. It’s much harder to truly know them.

And sometimes, the person smiling the most on court is the one who needed those two hours the most.

So be kind. Ask questions. Get to know the human behind the paddle.

Pickleball is a mirror. But there’s always more beyond the reflection. #pickleball by @gary.unrated

October 30th. Halloween party. 🎃

Someone accidentally lost control of his paddle during a drive. The paddle flew straight into my ribs.

Result? A cracked rib. 💀

8 hours later, I had a tournament.

🥈 2nd place in Men’s Doubles
🥇 1st place in Singles

Was it painful? Absolutely.
Was playing injured a smart decision? Probably not. 😂

But here’s what I took away from it.

When you really want something, your mindset changes. You stop looking for excuses and start looking for possibilities.

And this goes far beyond pickleball.

Business. Relationships. Personal goals. Life.

You can’t always control what happens to you. But you can control how you respond.

That doesn’t mean ignoring your limits or destroying your body to prove a point.

It means understanding that discomfort and defeat are not the same thing.

Sometimes the biggest victory isn’t the medal.

It’s discovering how much something matters to you.

Your strongest strategy is targeting the weakest player?

Congratulations. You found the easiest way to win a plastic medal. 🏅

But here’s what scares me about your personality:

If that’s how you behave when absolutely nothing is at stake, imagine what you’d do when money, power, or real consequences enter the picture.

Winning doesn’t automatically make you strong.

And exploiting weakness doesn’t automatically make you a champion.

Pickleball is a mirror. And sometimes, the reflection isn’t pretty. 🪞
And to those who avoid me for 95% of the tournament’s match… trust me, your face will regret the other 5% this time 😈 #pickleball by @gary.unrated

I think adults forgot how to play.

We work.
We scroll.
We optimize everything.

And somewhere along the way, playing became something we watch other people do.

So this account has one goal:

To make you spend less time on this account.

Pickleball is just the excuse.

Meet someone.
Challenge a stranger.
Laugh too much.
Forget your phone for two hours.

Become a kid again.

And if you’re in Bangkok…
Come play with me.

Then close Instagram. #pickleball by @gary.unrated

Follow me to see my drills 🖤 Two distractions. One target. Zero room for error. 🎯

They call it a lack of focus. I call it precision training. 😇🏓 #pickleball #bangkok by @gary.unrated

Why did I start playing pickleball?

I was lucky enough to sell my company.

And suddenly, after years of working way too much… I had nothing to do.

No goal to chase. No problem to solve. And honestly, not that many friends either.

Pickleball filled that gap.

It gave my brain something to obsess over, my body something to work on, and somehow became the easiest way to meet people.

No titles. No status. No business bullshit.

Just people hitting a plastic ball together. Thanks to the pickleball community, you helped me more than you imagine. I love you all @papayapickleball @club46_official @beatdiscovery.thailand @sukspaceplus67

Turns out, that was exactly what I needed.
