I could write a whole book about all my thoughts about taking this photo, but I’ll try to keep it shorter than that…

I think this might be the pinnacle of my photography through the years. This is a combination of almost everything I love about cameras, and using many of the skills I’ve learned in the last 15 years all together for this single still frame.
This photo was made using a light on a drone to light up the foreground, a technique known as “light painting” and then did a about an hour and twenty minute long exposure to get the star trails in the sky. I’ve never seen this type of photo in the cannabis genre, and I’m stoked with how it turned out. It feels awesome to still be trying new stuff with photography and the fact that I’m never done learning. Forever a student.

$Here’s a glimpse at what it’s like to fly a $30,000 drone. It was equipped with a LiDAR sensor so we could generate a digital 3D map of over 200 acres of land with accuracy to a fraction of a foot. It was super high stakes, but also probably the coolest job I’ve ever had. #drone #aerial #dji #djim300rtk #part107certified #funemployment #vanlife by @gary_ottonello$
