Hard to believe a decade can pass in the blink of an eye. This video is a look back at the night the New Jersey Surfing Hall of Fame brought the tribe together to celebrate the people, stories, and history that shaped our surfing community. Some faces are no longer with us, some lives have taken incredible new paths, and a new generation has grown into the lineup—but the friendships, respect, and shared stoke remain.

I've always been as comfortable under moonlight as I am in sunshine.

One gives me perspective... the other gives me purpose. Somewhere between the two is where I've spent most of my life.
Still chasing waves. Still chasing wonder. Still dreaming.

And when it's finally time for the dirt nap? I'm definitely sliding in late... surfed out, sunburned, bit of rum on my breath and a trace of lipstick on my cheek.

Saturday night at the Baronet Theater in Asbury Park, I caught Jack Johnson's film A Brokedown Melody. It's a beautiful reminder of how passion, creativity, and a love for the journey can lead from humble beginnings to something much bigger. No grand plan, no ego—just people creating, exploring, and having fun along the way.

Sunday, Jack stopped by Danny Clinch's Transparent Gallery to christen the JJ wall currently on display. JJ playing guitar and Danny Clinch with harmonica background was pretty neat . A pretty perfect way to spend a Father's Day weekend in Asbury Park. by @garygermaing

Some time ago I came across the incredibly talented drummer Eleni Nota (to my right), so I started following ANKOR. When I saw they were playing Irving Plaza, I jumped at the chance to catch the show and meet up backstage.

Plainly, I never grew up a heavy metal fan, and indie metal certainly wasn't my lane. But the more I listen, the more I appreciate the energy, musicianship, and passion the metal genre brings. I'm leaning in.

The band couldn't have been cooler. They were already 30 days into a 60-day tour and still took the time to chat and make me feel welcome. I spent a few minutes trying to convince them that Asbury Park needs to be added to a future tour stop so I can get them all in the ocean for a surf lesson.

The best part? I was standing a few feet from the stage surrounded by black T-shirts, leather jackets, tattoos, piercings, full metal garb, and enough spikes on every piece of clothing to stock a hardware store. Then there was me—in my surf hat and bell bottoms.

At one point, a heavily tattooed rocker chick, noticing how completely out of place I looked, asked who I was there to see. When I told her ANKOR, she seemed somewhat bewildered that I was there for the second band on a five-band bill and not the headliner. I told her, "Give ANKOR two songs, then come back and tell me what you think." Sure enough...

By the end of the night, everybody around me was chatting it up, and we all traded phone numbers. Turns out several of them spend time in Asbury every year. Looking forward to that.

I've been fortunate to collect photos from all over the world, but this is one of my favorites. It reminds me how important it is to get out, see new things, and meet people you'd never cross paths with in your everyday circle.
