As Hurricane Isaias gets closer to making landfall, join us in praying for the safety of those in its path. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7 We Pray! We Care! We are the Church of God! by @garyjlewis

Today marks the 3rd solemn anniversary of the October 7 tragedy, when the darkness of racial malice and utter disregard for human life led to horrific bloodshed as Hamas carried out unspeakable evil against innocent people in Israel. Since that day, conflict has continued, affecting countless lives and creating widespread suffering. As a global church, we mourn with those who suffer, grieving with every family who has experienced the pain of war and violence. In moments of darkness, we remember our call to intercede and show Christ's love wherever we can. In the midst of war, the Church of God has remained active, ministering to the spiritual and physical needs of people across the region. Today, I am asking the Church of God around the world to join me in praying for our brothers and sisters in the Middle East. We have faithful Church of God pastors, missionaries, and relief workers who are serving with courage in the most difficult circumstances we can imagine. Please join me in interceding for the peace of Jerusalem. Pray for the grieving who are mourning the loss of those they love. Pray for the churches working as the hands and feet of Jesus amid conflict. Pray for world leaders to have the wisdom to navigate toward peace and order. “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem…” -Psalm 122:6 by @garyjlewis

Our church is blessed with faithful men and women who have dedicated their lives to preaching the gospel. Bishop Raymond Gabbard was recently recognized for 75 years as a minister in the Church of God. To Brother Gabbard and the over 55,000 CoG credentialed ministers, “Thank You” for your service. by @garyjlewis

Our culture is increasingly quick to magnify and sensationalize the tragic failures of a few. These stories make it easy for people to form a distorted view of pastoral ministry. But the vast majority of pastors are faithful men and women of God who have dedicated their lives to Kingdom work. I want to honor the thousands of steadfast pastors in our movement. You are the self-sacrificing, hard-working, people-loving men and women who give your all in service to your communities. You lend an ear to the hurting, sit by hospital beds at 3 AM, hold the hand of the dying, bring healing to brokenness, and shepherd your congregations with the highest integrity. While the media focuses on the corruption of a few, heaven is recording the devoted service of the many. To our Church of God pastors: thank you for serving well. We are inspired by your dedication. We are grateful for your sacrifice. We honor your calling. We pray for you as you continue to do the unheralded work that is advancing the Kingdom every day! by @garyjlewis

UPDATE ON COLUMBIA: As of today, we have 25 active volunteers mobilized, 500 hydration units distributed, 400 meals and essential food items delivered, medicines provided at collection points, 3 churches are operating as temporary shelters, and tools distributed for debris removal. Today, Bishop Freddy, our Colombia Overseer, is personally in the hardest-hit area. He attended the funeral and burial of one of our sisters who lost her life in the earthquake, and he is now on his way to visit a pastoral family who lost their home. Cali is also serving as the main coordination hub for the relief brigades that will be deployed to some of the most critically affected areas in the Coffee Region and Cauca. As the response expands, there are still important needs related to rescue operations, shelter, medical assistance, food, water, and other essential supplies. We continue to be present on the ground, serving affected communities with practical assistance, pastoral care, and hope. Grateful for the prayers and support as this response continues to develop.
