WBOR Comp Team hosted their 4th annual ‘Masonboro Taplin Relays’ competition this past Saturday. It is an endurance version of the USLA Taplin relay event (4 person per team- one person per leg- paddle, ski, swim, run). Team captains draft teams to create camaraderie between beaches who normally compete against each other.

Athletes from Florida @volusia_surflifesaving_ & deerfield beach, Outer Banks @kdhoceanrescue , and Carolina Beach @cb_lifeguards traveled to compete with us this year! Thank you to everyone who made the trip!

We had so much fun- stay tuned for more off season races 🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️

Iconic moments from the @sala_usla Regional Lifeguard tournament in Jax Beach, FL captured by the one and only @garyqphoto 🙌🙌

My team @wbor_comp competed for two days in the sand, surf, and sun and pushed our bodies to the limits 💪- my teammates are total baddies and we all stepped up to the plate and contributed to defending the First Place Title for 6 years running 🥇🏴‍☠️☠️

It’s not just the sport but it is the people who make surf racing and ocean lifeguarding so much fun 🫶🫶 Can’t wait to see you at Natty’s!
