Lumix S1II: My Go-To Camera for Unbeatable Value and Color

For over a decade, my primary cinematic tool has been Blackmagic cameras, renowned for their exceptional color science. However, the Lumix S series has profoundly shifted my perspective, with the Lumix S1II now serving as my go-to camera for approximately 90% of my productions. This preference follows an extensive period with the S1RII, solidifying my conviction that Lumix cameras offer unparalleled color rendition and exceptional value, surpassing even offerings from Sony and Canon in my own experience.

This video highlights a lightweight, efficient camera build. It features the Lumix S1II in a SmallRig cage, powered by a CoreSWX Cell 99Wh V-mount battery. My versatile lens kit includes the Sigma 16-28mm f/2.8 and the Sigma 28-105mm f/2.8. Exposure is managed with Moments VND Filters, while audio is captured using the RØDE Wireless Micro and monitoring is handled by the Blackmagic Video Assist 5-inch 12G HDR.

This setup provides approximately three hours of power, meaning a full eight-hour shoot would typically require two 99Wh V-mount batteries.
