Last night in Jerusalem. Thousands of people joined in protest. Shouting and marching, drenched by a freezing rainstorm. Israel is led by a coalition of corrupt demagogues who are dismissing the head of the Israel Security Service, because the prime minister is under investigation for corruption. In times of war, our government representatives are busy dismantling the establishment. by @garyweiss1

Yesterday I met Thomas Hand. Thomas is the father of Emily, 9, who was kidnapped on Oct 7th, along with 40 other children, and is now held captive in Gaza.

Backstage, his hands shook, as he tried to roll a cigarette and couldn't. He was worried about his speech, and if he would be able to talk. On the platform, he spoke to the rally, over 5,000 in all, including members of Christian Action Against Antisemitism and the Oct 7 Human Chain.

He told us about his daughter, how she loves Beyonce - and how she would put on a show every evening, performing her songs and dances, and her incredible energy.

I kept thinking how it might feel if my own 9-year-old son, Ori, was taken from me. But I don't know. The next morning, my son was there in his bed; but Emily was still missing.

I promised Thomas I will do everything I can to help bring her back. taken in 10 Downing Street by @garyweiss1
