🎧NEW EPISODE DAY!!🎧 Nurse anesthesia school can be demanding, isolating, and humbling, but it does not have to be experienced alone. The Nurse Anesthesiology Resident Association (NARA) is an organization run by residents for residents, and we had the opportunity to sit down with President Dazjia Green and Vice President Omar Durand at the Annual Congress in Boston.

We’ll hear how NARA serves the resident community and what our guests have learned from balancing school, leadership, and life. They also share what resident life really feels like, how quickly confidence can swing in clinical, and why building a national community matters for the future of the profession.

🎧 New Episode Day!! 🎧 A career in nurse anesthesia does not have to follow one path. For Tracy Young, MSNA, MBA, CRNA, it certainly did not. His career has included clinical practice, entrepreneurship, business leadership, advocacy, state association leadership, national board service, and eventually the presidency of the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology. But one of the most interesting parts of his story is that none of it was part of one grand plan.

The new AANA President joins Grade 1 View from Annual Congress in Boston to share how his path evolved from bedside nursing and anesthesia into entrepreneurship, advocacy, and national leadership. ✨3️⃣3️⃣✨

Another year in the books.

If you asked 32-year-old me if I’m where I thought I’d be by now, the answer would probably be: “Further. Keep running, dude.” 🏃🏼‍♂️‍➡️

But looking back at this year? Damn.

I was dragged through some of the roughest parts of anesthesia school, and somehow I’m still here. Showing up, doing the most, and becoming more confident in exactly who I am and what I bring to the table.

This year brought me friendships, connections, and opportunities I never could have predicted. I’ve learned to walk confidently into rooms where I know I may not be wanted—and recognize that being wanted and belonging are two very different things. I know I belong.

Now, with 106 days until graduation, I can finally see those four beautiful letters waiting for me:

CRNA. 🫶🏼

So here’s to 33. 🥂
Another trip around the sun, another year of becoming exactly who I’m supposed to be.

And I have a feeling this one is going to be pretty damn amazing.

✨BOSTON✨ you were amazing! From seafood to Fenway and everything in between, I can’t wait to come back! Salem was also a special day trip to see everything spooky and the Hocus Pocus hot spots.
