I am super proud to announce the Gateway Defense Shooting Team! This is been a long time coming, but I couldnā€™t be more honored to have these guys representing Gateway Defense! Everyone had a great season this year, and we are excited to put in the work this offseason and come back to crush the 2027 season! Be on the lookout for us at major matches next year, and if you see us, be sure to come say hi! Big thanks to our team sponsors @howitzerclothing @tier1concealed @cummingselectrical @cloakanddagger.solutions Brennan Brennecke is a Grandmaster in Carry Optics and Master Class in Limited Optics. Heā€™s a full time performance shooting coach and instructor and travels the country teaching both open enrollment classes as well as working with his private training clients. Brennan is known for being a big M&P 2.0 guy, his scoop draw, and probably being Asian. Brennan has always competed with the M&P 2.0, and has been ripping the Metal HD steel frame variant this year. Brennan lives in Greenville, SC. Brandon Barajas is a Grandmaster in both Carry Optics as well as Limited Optics. (We all want him to go after GM in Open, go DM him about this.) Heā€™s an electrician by trade who is known for his absolutely nasty splits, never letting anyone take anything too seriously, and wearing range Rolexā€™s (or an Omega when heā€™s feeling cheap). He competes primarily with a CZ Shadow 2, but also rips a Fowler on occasion. Brandon is local to Dallas, TX. Nick Poppel is Master Class in both Carry Optics as well as Limited Optics. Nick is the nicest guy youā€™ll ever meet and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. (Donā€™t ask to have his team jersey tho!) Heā€™s known for his fast reloads and upbeat energetic attitude. He is super excited about getting better, and is always putting in work behind the scenes. Nick rips with (the best) M&P 2.0 Metal HD and hails from Chattanooga, TN. Roger Feng is Master Class in both Carry Optics and Limited Optics. Roger has made insane progress since he started USPSA, and is shooting at a whole new level even compared to one year ago. He is one of the hardest working guys I know, trains on his own a ton, and is super analytical about by @gatewaydefense

A little over a year ago I took my first @gatewaydefense performance pistol class @blackcreekrange where I attempted the Gateway Defense pistol standards and failed miserably. I took what I learned from that class and it became the bedrock to my training. Cut to October 2026 and a friend and I booked a private lesson with @look_an_asian and I had a chance to run the pistol standards again. I am proud to say and be the holder of the 22nd coin after attempting and passing all 3 three strings! Thank you again @look_an_asian for teaching an excellent private class. Please checkout @gatewaydefense they have a ton of options for classes and the content is always top tear a long with a very large catalog of videos on his YouTube channel. Please check it out! šŸ™ . . . . . . . #uspsa #coach #pistol by @gatewaydefense
ā€œThatā€™s a little slowā€ šŸ™„ . Nothing like an instructor casually destroying your self-esteem before lunch. . Gateway Defense - Performance Pistol @gatewaydefense @look_an_asian @tier1concealed by @gatewaydefense
First few targets I shot scared AF. Everyone roast me in the comments for being slow, somethings gotta change!! After the reload I started shooting properly. (Donā€™t shoot like a b*****!) Also sure wish I had run the 26 round mag here, didnā€™t have the balls. Iā€™m just no fun these days. šŸ¤£ If you want insight into my training journey and how I think about shooting, come train with me! A few more courses on the schedule for 2026, donā€™t miss em! Oct 3-4: Mt. Pleasant, MI Oct 10-11: San Jose, CA Nov 7-8: Hempstead, TX Dec 5-6: Phenix City, AL by @gatewaydefense

Client this week was convinced he had a vision problem. Getting to the root cause of his issue proved it wasnā€™t. Swipe for why that matters. ā€”> Full days or half days available. Come train with me in Greenville, SC, or if youā€™ve got a range, Iā€™ll come to you ā€” anywhere within a few hours of Greenville. August is full. Iā€™m booking September now, and those go fast. brennan@gateway-defense.com | link in bio by @gatewaydefense
2 days with Brennan @look_an_asian at his @gatewaydefense Performance Pistol class was a phenomenal experience! It was a small class, a lot of people missed out on some quality learning/training! I got a lot of tough love, which I need. Iā€™ve been pushing things in own training that has got me further along but now holding me back from make the next jump and Brennan really hammered home some things I needed to work on if I expect to get to the next level. My brother @heethernet attended the class as well, came in with less experience than myself but still got a ton out of the weekend, pushed in a different way at the same time. I have a lot of video to rewatch and put into practice the things we worked on. Hoping this will be the boost I need to get into the next class, maybe even skip one šŸ˜†. by @gatewaydefense
