@gatewayost invites you to celebrate the Gateway Arts District's creative economy from 12-5 p.m. on Saturday, May 9.

Visit the studios of artists across four neighborhoods (Mount Rainier, Brentwood, North Brentwood and Hyattsville) at the 2026 Gateway Arts District Open Studios Tour (OST).

"I always enjoy the camaraderie generated when people see artwork up close," says mixed-media artist Sharon Robinson. "Art touches people in ways that go beyond words, and sometimes just watching the observing is as fulfilling as a conversation."

Robinson is one of three local artists @wildsidemediaco spoke with about the 2026 Gateway Arts District Open Studios Tour (OST), one dynamic day where art studios and spaces in Maryland's Gateway Arts District (Mount Rainier, Brentwood, North Brentwood and Hyattsville) open their studio doors to the public for a behind-the-scenes-look at how and where their art is created.

We also chatted with quiltmaker Megan Haidet and visual artist Rose Jaffe about @gatewayost this Saturday, May 9 from 12-5 p.m. and the contemporary arts space that connects them: @pyramidatlantic in Hyattsville, Md.
