With the new season well and truly among us in Berlin, it’s time to get cosy. This time, all the way from Australia, Harry Mangat joins the Gather community to share his take on dishes that are inspired by his Indian roots, whilst also influences drawn from his travels - hence describing ‘Biji Dining’ as a nomadic pop up project.

On Thursday 15th, we’re happy to be welcomed by Liquid Studio in Kreuzberg to host this special evening. Expect a long table sharing style menu with Harry’s beautiful, bold and modern interpretation on traditional dishes such as chaat, sabji and a mangalorean gassi to name a few.

Gather aims to create a safe and inclusive space for all people, so as always, open minds and good vibes only. Tickets are 55€ pp and include a 3-course family style dinner and welcome drink. Selected drinks to go with the menu will be available to purchase on the night. Book your spot via the link in bio. We don’t want anyone left out so for low income support, please drop us a DM.

*For this event we cannot cater for vegans.

HARRY MANGAT BIJI DINING

For Harry Mangat, food has always been about bringing people together. Through his nomadic pop-up project, Biji—meaning “grandma” in Punjabi—he celebrates the connection between food, home, heritage, people and place.

Inspired by travels across India, Australia, New Zealand and Europe, Harry brings together bold Indian spices and techniques with local and seasonal ingredients. Each dish is a little taste of the places he’s been, the people he’s met, and the stories he’s collected along the way.

@gather.berlin × @yamcph × @marktlokal • 12 Oct ’25

Our 20th event (!!) since starting out five years ago, and feeling endlessly grateful for everyone who’s been part of this journey.

@gather.berlin was created to build connection, community and conversation, while helping to educate and diversify the food industry. Each gathering is a space to learn from one another, share stories and celebrate the creativity that food brings.

Thank you to everyone who continues to show up with love, and to all the incredible cooks for your energy, generosity and delicious food. You have our hearts (and tummies).

Big shoutout to Lou @louloulefeverr for the beautiful photos and @assila.beer for the tasty beers 💛 by @gather.berlin

To round off the year of events, we’re welcoming Kai @yamcph over from Copenhagen to share his modern take on Caribbean classics to the Gather community.

YAM meaning to “eat” in Jamaican patois was founded by Kai Semple. The sole purpose behind the concept is to create a unique experience through food. Inspired by his upbringing he felt there was a need to revitalise Caribbean cuisine and give it a modern twist whilst paying homage to classical dishes

ᴅɪɴɴᴇʀ
Guests will enjoy a communal style long table late lunch diving into modern Caribbean food whilst upholding some classic dishes, held at the beautiful @marktlokal restaurant in Kreuzberg. Expect three courses and a welcome drink. Both meat and veggie options are available. Sorry unfortunately we can’t cater for vegans.
Additional wines and non alcoholic options will be specially curated by Gather and available to buy on the day.

Gather aims to create a safe and inclusive space for all people, so as always, open minds and good vibes only.

Limited tickets available via the link in bio. Please DM Gather for low income tickets.

One week ago we welcomed @sisterwomanvegan to Berlin to cook her delicious take on ‘Intentional Nourishment’ to the @gather.berlin and @plot.rec community. Think hand pies with turmeric ketchup, grilled okra, stuffed cabbage and cornbread washed down with Ei’s very own house cuvée.

Thanks to @yazzus__ and @theycallmerix for the beautiful tunes to complement the evening, to @ei.berlin for having us at their beautiful space in the heart of the Treptower forest, and of course to @sisterwomanvegan , and everyone for bringing the warmest vibe. Until next time. 🫶💫

ᴇᴠᴇɴᴛ ᴀɴɴᴏᴜɴᴄᴇᴍᴇɴᴛ – ᴛʜᴜʀꜱᴅᴀʏ 28 ᴀᴜɢᴜꜱᴛ – ᴡɪᴛʜ ꜱɪꜱᴛᴇʀ ᴡᴏᴍᴀɴ ᴠᴇɢᴀɴ & ᴍᴜꜱɪᴄ ʙʏ ᴘʟᴏᴛ ʀᴇᴄᴏʀᴅꜱ

We’re so excited to welcome Safiya Robinson of @sisterwomanvegan to Berlin for a very special end-of-summer gathering at @ei.berlin. Safiya crafts modern vegan soul food through the lens of a Londoner, inspired by her Black American, Jamaican and English heritage. Her focus is thoughtful, considered, plant-forward cooking that combines bold flavours with intentional nourishment. Her practice doesn’t just ask what we eat, but how, why, and with whom, positioning nourishment as a cultural, political, and spiritual act. This dinner will take place outdoors along one long table, bringing guests together to share abundant dishes and warm conversation.

ᴅɪɴɴᴇʀ
For her Berlin debut, Safiya builds a menu inspired by the poetry and presence of Audre Lorde, the Black American writer and activist who once called Berlin home. Lorde’s legacy offers a meaningful way to connect Safiya’s culinary practice to the city’s layered histories of migration, resistance, and creative kinship, and opens up space for a deeper dialogue between food, identity, and place. This is soul food in conversation: with Lorde, with Berlin, with the ancestors – playful, site specific and evocative. Expect sensory, flavourful dishes that honour Black American traditions while experimenting with where our culinary traditions overlap: think cabbage, mustard and curry like you’ve never seen them before!

ᴍᴜꜱɪᴄ
The evening’s soundtrack will be curated live by PLOT Records, a Berlin-based label supporting queer FLINTA* and BIPOC artists. Expect an eclectic mix of deep, warm, and soulful sounds that flow perfectly with the generous spirit of the night. Learn more via @plot.rec

Gather aims to create a safe and inclusive space for all people, so as always, open minds and good vibes only.
Limited tickets available via the link in bio. Please DM Gather for low income tickets.
