Time for my annual Instagram post.

While wandering the un-air-conditioned labyrinth of the London Underground during a brutal heat wave last summer, this brilliant, menacing ad greeted/assaulted me on my way to the surface. I didn't know whether to feel welcomed or threatened. Maybe that was the idea.

Contemporary landscape piece from the Matthew Wong exhibit at the Dallas Museum of Art is giving retro video game vibes. I wonder if Matthew, who was a self-taught artist and a millennial, was inspired by the virtual world of video games.

Last night I spotted this group of young boys on the beach, huddled around their firework which they struggled to keep lit against the ocean breezes.

It was a very primal “Lord of the Flies” moment, but with trendy Adidas slides and smart watches.
