In a past chapter of my life. I did have hair on my head. Loads of it as in the form of deadlocks. A rite of passage. #funtimes #friendship a by @gavinbenjamin

🗞️🗞️In Other News Gallery is honored to announce the official acquisition of Gavin Benjamin’s “Heads of State #32” into the permanent collection of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.

We extend our sincere gratitude to collectors Matt and Mandi Strange @the5mcollection for their generous donation and partnership in facilitating the placement of this significant work into the museum’s contemporary art collection. ✨🏛️

It was a distinct privilege to collaborate on this milestone alongside the incredible team at the Nelson-Atkins:
▪️ Dr. Stephanie Fox Knappe, Senior Curator of Global Modern and Contemporary Art
▪️ Reagan Duplisea, Registrar
▪️ Holly Bawden, Curatorial Assistant
▪️ Randall Roberts, Associate Vice President, Development

We congratulate Gavin Benjamin on this remarkable institutional achievement!

One more week to view
Gavin Benjamin:
In The Air Tonight

This new series takes a more pop art approach than some of the artist’s prior work – bright colors and simple silhouettes, tastefully adorned with crystals. It reflects his nostalgia for New York City in the 90’s – an era gone by.
