15 year old Gavin’s wish came through last week when I got to play Evan in the AIMS premier of Dear Evan Hansen. Safe to say it is the most challenging role I’ve ever had to play, and might ever play! I will be forever grateful to all of the NEMS family who welcomed me with open arms and to the incredible production team and cast. Special shoutout to @niamhy_mcg and @gavin_quigley1 I truly could not have gotten through it without all of your support. 💙 CAST INTRODUCTION – EVAN HANSEN 💙

We are delighted to introduce Gavin Murphy in the title role of Evan Hansen in our upcoming production of Dear Evan Hansen.

Originally from Thurles, Co. Tipperary and now based in Dublin, Gavin has performed in numerous productions across the country and is delighted to return to the Íontas stage for his second production with North East Musical & Dramatic Society, having previously appeared as Dennis in All Shook Up.

Some of Gavin’s previous roles include Peter in Jesus Christ Superstar, Hänschen in Spring Awakening, and Munkustrap in Cats. Gavin is also an accomplished director and choreographer, with multiple award nominations and wins at the AIMS Awards and Musical Theatre Intervarsities.

Playing Evan Hansen has been a dream role for Gavin for many years, and we are incredibly proud to have him leading this production.

Returning to perform on stage after 3 years, playing two different roles and being dance captain was a whirlwind, but I am so lucky to have done it with a crew like Entr’acte! I would be writing all day if I mentioned everyone but, a few shoutouts…

@niamhy_mcg your brain is incredible and to top it all off you may be the kindest, most thoughtful human I have ever met. I am crazy lucky that I get to have you as my director twice this year! 💙

@roisin_here you are such a dream to work with and you are undeniably the core to the “entr’acte magic” ✨

@amycass1 I would have been lost without you as as my dance captain partner. An absolute star! 👯

@jo_jens I can’t begin to describe how proud I am of you, never have I seen someone as locked in for a role, hope you know the feat you achieved, you were incredible! ⭐️

@taylor.katie99 what a joy to share the stage with you after 8 years, every show I am involved in with you feels like a special one! ❤️

@annabergiin @cmdoyl and @caoimhetyndall for helping me deal with my fear of the JCS curse 😅 and as always being soo supportive
throughout the process. 🥰
@andrewogradyy couldn’t have picked a more talented guy to share the role of Peter with, you were incredible! 🎉

To all the apostles, cast and crew it was such a pleasure getting to work with all of you on this really special show 💙 Thanks to all of you, I can now officially say I have been cured of all of my old JCS trauma!
