“Separate yourself—always, in all ways.” — Michael Garciaparra

Scouts aren’t looking for “good”—they’re looking for separators. Big leaguers separated themselves from minor leaguers; minor leaguers separated themselves from college and high school players. The question is: what do YOU do that truly stands out? ⚾️

What separates players in 2025:
• A carrying tool that plays every day (maybe it’s bat speed, arm strength, glove work or run tool etc.)
• Game IQ & intent—situational decisions that can impact game outcomes
• Professional habits—early work, routines, body language, ability to compete
• Consistency under daily pressure—not just in occasional showcases

Watch the full clip from my convo with Michael Garciaparra—area scout and college/pro development coach—on how to build the tool that carries you to the next level. 🚀

👇 Drop “ALWAYS” in the Instagram comments and I’ll DM you the full link.

Congratulations to 7-year Hawk Conor Alvezi (Bishop Feehan HS, 2028) on his commitment to Northeastern University.

Conor is a high-motor outfielder that collects barrels and bases at a high clip. When he’s not putting balls in the gap or over the fence, Alvezi is swiping bases as a consistent stolen base threat.

Northeastern is getting a great one! by @gbgbaseballusa
