Dear God,

Why do people think the things they threw at me could break me?
Why do they think the weight they put on my shoulders would make me fold?

I’ve survived things I never talked about.
I’ve lost people I thought I’d grow old with.
I’ve lost pieces of myself trying to make it through moments that nobody else even knew I was fighting.

I’ve battled my past.
I’ve battled my choices.
I’ve battled the person I became just to survive.

But somewhere along the way, I found myself again.

I wasn’t handed an easy road. I made mistakes. I’ve taken wrong turns. I’ve had moments where I didn’t recognize the person looking back at me.

But every loss taught me something.
Every scar tells a story.
Every person I lost left something behind that helped shape who I am now.

I miss the ones who aren’t here.
I carry those memories with me every day.

And to the ones who tried to bury me — I hope you understand something…

You weren’t the reason I fell.
You were just another thing I had to overcome.

I’m still standing.
Not because life was easy — but because I refused to let everything I went through be for nothing.

I’m still chasing.
Still growing.
Still becoming.

My past is part of me, but it doesn’t own me.
