Losing Teddy left a space in my life that I knew nothing could really fill.

So we made him a garden.

At first, I think I just needed somewhere for all that love to go. Something living to take care of. Something I could walk outside and tend to when I missed him.

I didn’t expect how much happiness it would bring me.

Over the past few months, that garden has grown into so much more than a memorial. I’ve planted things, killed things, replanted things, fought cabbage worms, worried over tiny peppers, celebrated the first tomatoes, harvested potatoes, and already started dreaming about what I’ll grow next year.

And somewhere along the way, a place that began because I was grieving became a place where I feel genuinely happy.

I still wish Teddy were lying outside watching me work in it. I would trade every tomato and flower to have him back. But I love that something so full of life came from loving him.

His garden keeps changing with the seasons, and I think that’s part of what makes it so special. It gives me somewhere to remember him that isn’t only sad.

I miss you every day, Teddy. Thank you for giving me one more thing to love. ❤️🌱 by @gbr_teddy

What we’ve been working on since losing Teddy:

We wanted to make a space that still feels like him — peaceful, beautiful, and full of life. A place to sit with him, remember him, and keep loving him.

We miss you so much, Teddy. 🤍 by @gbr_teddy

Today is Teddy’s Gotcha Day!

3 years with this old goof and it’s been amazing. After living in a shelter in S Korea, to coming to the US and having multiple fosters, I’m so glad he found his way to us. ❤️ by @gbr_teddy
