Here for you is some perspective based on the events of the day:

This book is titled “One Million”. As you can see in the second image, it contains one million (1,000,000 or 1x10^6) dots in the format shown.

One trillion (1,000,000,000,000 or 1x10^12) dots in this format requires one million copies of this book.

The book is 5/8” (1.59cm) thick, meaning one million books stacked to have one trillion dots would be just under 10 miles (16km) high. taken in Galactic Sector ZZ9 Plural Z Alpha by @gdaveb

This is the shortwave time signal from CHU, operated by the National Research Council of Canada. It transmits on 3330, 7850, and 14670 kHz. It is the Canadian version of WWV and WWVH (US National Institute of Standards and Technology time service).

When I first listened to shortwave radio as a kid, CHU was one of the first signals I heard on my WWII surplus receiver. It was mesmerizing and strangely comforting to my young brain.

The shortwave signal of CHU will go off-air on 22 June 2026. taken in Canada by @gdaveb

Outstanding @bikepackingcom Ironwood Loop overnighter with bikepacking rookie @desert.pipboy and first day beer mule @dirtybunnytucson. Three years since my last bikepacking trip and a ways to go for me but so happy with the ride and grateful for my friends. I’m good seeing babyheads for a while though.

Also, I’m terrible at taking pictures during rides, so I’m amazed I even got these. taken in Ironwood Forest National Monument by @gdaveb
