🎨 WELCOME @gee.artist to the #jasonperezartcollective
Gerardo Carrero, known artistically as G, is a Puerto Rican artist born in Bedford, Texas and raised in Kissimmee, Florida. A lifelong draftsman with a background in Computer Animation and years of experience as a high school art teacher, Carrero builds work that bridges traditional painting, dimensional construction, and contemporary visual storytelling.

His practice came into sharper focus after the pandemic, when he began pursuing painting with renewed seriousness and discipline. Working primarily with acrylics, mixed media, and layered wood elements, Carrero creates sculptural paintings that move beyond the flat surface of the canvas. His pieces often carry a distinctive 2.5D / 3D presence, with forms and details physically extending forward to create depth, shadow, and a more immersive visual experience.

Carrero’s visual language blends hints of realism with abstract backgrounds, drawing from Japanese art, pop culture, religious iconography, animation, and the influence of artists such as Greg “Craola” Simkins and J. C. Leyendecker. The result is work that feels both accessible and carefully built playful, spiritual, graphic, and dimensional, while still grounded in strong drawing and composition.

Now working with Jason Perez Art Collective, Carrero is entering a new chapter focused on expanding his audience, refining his collector-facing body of work, and bringing his dimensional paintings into larger conversations around contemporary art, culture, and storytelling.

ROUND TWO at the iconic @nationalhotelmiamibeach 🎨

What an incredible night. The energy, the art, the people, the love …….this is exactly what the movement is all about.

A HUGE shoutout to every artist who came out, showed love, and continues to believe in what we’re building. And thank you to everyone who came through and supported the Jason Perez Art Collective. None of this happens without you.

We’re not just throwing art shows , we’re building a community, creating opportunities, and making memories along the way.

Second event at the National Hotel… and we’re just getting started.

Much love to my entire JPAC family. ❤️
