We often speak of protecting nature as if it were something outside ourselves. But to turn away from nature is, ultimately, to turn away from ourselves. We are not separate from the forest, the ocean, or the wind. We breathe because nature breathes. Every cell in our bodies carries the memory of the same earth that shaped mountains, trees, and all life. To love nature is not an act of charity. It is an act of recognition. When we learn to care for the living world, we begin to care for ourselves. From that recognition grows the capacity to love others: our neighbors, our families, strangers, and ultimately the world we all share. My work begins with a simple belief: we are part of nature. Every living being is connected through natureโ€™s invisible order. Through my work, I hope to remind people that we have never been separate from nature. To nurture nature is to nurture ourselves. To love nature is to learn how to love the world. And perhaps, by remembering that everything is connected, we may also rediscover what it truly means to be human in an age increasingly shaped by technologies that seek to replace us. #artiststatement by @gee1ntheskx
