Hippo Brawl – The Sequel
SAPRF PR22 Vaal Provincial Match – Saturday, 15 August 2026

A huge thank you to Match Director @cliveenaliza Clive May for an excellent and challenging course of fire. The day ran as smooth as my equipment, and it was another reminder of how preparation meets opportunity.

This match revealed both strengths and blindspots: training paid off in key areas, but I identified a gap with the tripod rear support. I wasn’t confident enough to run it during the match — a serious blindspot that now becomes a priority to fix. Growth comes from exposing weaknesses and turning them into strengths.

Congratulations to all the Division winners — your performances set the bar higher for all of us.Grateful for the continuous support from Vector Optics and DSS 💫💥🏆 — trusted partners in this journey.

NRL22 COF – July 2026
Saturday, 11 July 2026

Three extra ranges added for the X‑Match made this the perfect prep for the upcoming SAPRF PR22 Provincial Match. Proud to have secured 7th place in the Open Division, running my stock‑standard factory rifle against strong competition.

Switchy winds and an engaging course of fire kept things exciting, but the camaraderie in Squad 4 made it even better — encouragement, banter, and lessons learned. The Match Director pushed us to further distances, and the takeaway was clear: trust your gear, trust your ballistics.

- CZ457 + Lapua Center‑X ammo = consistency
- Vector Continental 3‑18x50 Optics = crystal‑clear target acquisition

Huge thanks to Vector Optics & DSS for the continued support — gear I trust, performance I rely on.

Field Precision, Locked In 🎯

When stability meets accuracy, performance follows.
The Rokstad Tripod delivers rock‑solid support with:
- Lightweight yet rugged carbon fiber legs.
- Adjustable pan/tilt head for rapid target transitions
- Quick‑deploy locking system for fast stage setups
Mounted on top, the Vector Paragon 10x42 Rangefinder Binoculars bring clarity and precision:
- 10x magnification with 42mm objective lenses for crisp glass
- Integrated laser rangefinder with spot-on accuracy out to 2,000m
- Fast scan mode for tracking multiple PR22 targets in switchy winds
- Ergonomic design for long sessions without fatigue

Together, they make a formidable pairing in the field. The tripod keeps your optic steady, while the Paragon’s ranging accuracy ensures you trust your dope and hit steel first time. Whether you’re dialing for 45m or stretching to 300m, this combo turns guesswork into confidence.

"Run the gear you trust, trust the gear you run"

Saturday 23 May 2026 saw the annual Warrior Mini Grind PR22 Match. The Gun Warrior Team and Match Director, Warren Britnell, did not disappoint, hosting the match at the legendary Leopards Valley.

Ranges and gongs were situated in the most picturesque bushveld location, shooting gongs on a dam, up into a mountain and over valleys... stunning!

I had two brainf@rt$ on the day where I shot out of sequence on one stage and failed to remove my bipod on another stage, restricting my gun placement. Costly mistakes, but as the saying goes: some you win, some you learn.

Thanks to my trusted gear and remaining calm under pressure, I still managed a 6th place in the Factory devision.

SAPRF PR22 Provincial Match 3 – Mpumalanga, Balmoral

What started as a perfect day quickly turned into one of the toughest lessons I’ve faced on the range. Moderate temperatures, no rain, and calm conditions gave way to switchy winds that caught me off guard. Then came a costly mistake at Stage 1 (our 3rd stage) with a stage DQ.

Despite the setback, I fought through and finished 4th in Factory Division. More importantly, I walked away with lessons I’ll never forget - reminders that hard work, discipline, and intentional focus are the only way forward.

Through it all, my CZ457 paired with Vector Optics Continental glass proved once again that my equipment is ready for the challenge. It consistently outperformed me, and I’m determined to grow into its full potential.

This journey is about resilience, refinement, and respect for the craft. Every match is a step closer to mastery.

SAPRF Provincial PR22 – 7 March 2026
The second provincial match of the season delivered an incredible challenge, with MD Clive May putting together a stellar COF and layout, complete with some creative props that kept us on our toes.

I placed myself under immense pressure by squading with some of the top shooters in the sport. It was humbling, but also a valuable learning curve, patience and a spirit of growth remain key to the bigger goal.

My trusted CZ457 paired with Vector Continental optics once again proved its reliability. The equipment is ready; now it’s about me continuing to grow into it.

Grateful for the lessons, the camaraderie, and the opportunity to keep pushing forward.

As I continue this journey, I’m committed to representing the sport with discipline, resilience, and community spirit, qualities I hope to carry into my partnership with Vector Optics
