Port Antonio’s Geejam has once again earned a MICHELIN Key, marking the second consecutive year the celebrated Jamaican hotel has received the distinction.

Awarded by the MICHELIN Guide, best known globally for its restaurant Stars, MICHELIN Keys recognise hotels that offer exceptional stays and distinctive hospitality. A One MICHELIN Key distinction denotes “a very special stay,” recognising properties that stand out for their character, quality and sense of place.

For Geejam, tucked between the lush rainforest and Caribbean Sea in Port Antonio, the recognition reflects an approach to luxury that has always been distinctly its own.

Blending Jamaican culture, music, design and laid-back hospitality, the property has built an international reputation without losing the intimate atmosphere that has become central to the Geejam experience.

There’s more to an artist than meets the eye and more to music than the language it’s sung in.

Joining us from Paris, France, Kéhina opens up about being judged by her appearance and what people miss when they only see the surface. She also shares why she lets emotion guide the language she sings in.

What’s a song you’ve connected with without understanding the words?

This weekend, we were delighted to host Stephen ‘ @digenius1 ‘ McGregor and the incredibly talented Hope @hope_vocals_ at @geejamstudios , where they recorded their official versions of Hill and Gully Riddim.

Mento is such an underrated genre, its rich history and deep roots form the very foundation of Jamaican music culture as we know it today.

This summer marks the 15th anniversary of the Jolly Boys’ Great Expectations, which we’ll be celebrating more later this month. @jollyboysmusic @dalevirgo

Stephen’s incredible rhythm and musicality only reinforced that. Wishing @hope_vocals_ , who comes from the Moore Town community here in our own parish of Portland, every success in the journey that lies ahead.
