Campaigns end. Places stay. After thirty years in brand creative, I want to build experiences people can step into. This Thursday I’m speaking at Designers’ Night: The Value of Feeling, about The Last Round. It’s a dark ride concept about a carousel, a vanished Amsterdam palace and an unfinished waltz. I’ll talk about why I chose longing over thrills, how I’m breaking into themed entertainment, and why meaning might be the strongest business case our industry has. 🎠 Thu 29 Oct · 18:00–21:30 📍 DB55, Danzigerbocht 55, Amsterdam 🎟 Discount code DESIGNPARTNER, link in bio With Melle Pama, Martin Sammer and Nana Boitran. #experientialdesign #themedentertainment #immersiveexperience #darkride #storytelling by @geertjan

Went backstage at Thorpe Park with the IAAPA Education Tour. Saw things I probably wasn’t supposed to see. Met wonderful people. Thanks to IAAPA, Legoland, IWS and Thorpe Park for an unforgettable day! #thorpeparkofficial #thorpepark #iaapaexpoeurope #iaapaeducation #themedentertainment by @geertjan
Still a bit shaky after meeting and talking to one of my heroes: Bob Rogers. I gave him my booklet of ‘The Last Round’ and he promised me to read it and give his feedback on it! At IAAPA Orlando he will bring me a signed copy of his new book 🌈 #iaapa #london #disney #brcimaginationarts by @geertjan
