Wedding planning for a DJ starts from that first consult - getting to know the couple and their music taste is so important to crafting a personal set for the night. I always try to meet a few times with the couples I DJ for and ask questions to find out exactly how they want the day to go and how I can be a part of making sure they hear everything they want to on that dance floor!

I get that some people don’t want to hear “wedding” music but some wedding staples are there BECAUSE a lot of people know them and that makes them more comfortable on the dance floor and that makes the dance floor pop in those wonderful photos your photographer gets!

So keep that in mind when you’re putting together your Do Not Play playlists!

Meeting with clients before the wedding is KEY for moments like this to happen. I love planning sets around unique songs the couple give me.

“What do you wear to a wedding?”

As an event/wedding DJ I always try to think about the client and guest experience. I don’t want anything that’s going to be a glaring eye sore in photos - including my outfit haha

So no giant inflatable pickle for me.
