HIGHLIGHTS /// We continue our series highlighting our faculty’s presence in the Hungarian and international art scene. ✨

The latest issue of FOTÓMŰVÉSZET (2026/2) has been published, featuring an article by our faculty member Gellér Judit, PhD. Through the work of Alfredo Jaar, she explores how photography and contemporary art can become essential tools for reflecting on the ecological crisis. The analysis thoughtfully connects Jaar’s artistic practice with questions of climate change, raw material extraction, and the ethical responsibility of images, offering a fresh perspective on one of the most pressing challenges of our time. 📰

The work of several of our faculty members and numerous MOME Photography alumni was featured in the 3rd National Salon of Photography, PATHS AND CROSSROADS. Alongside the exhibition catalogue, a major new publication, 300 ARTISTS OF HUNGARIAN PHOTOGRAPHY, has been released following years of preparatory work. The volume features the work of most of our faculty members. 📸

ZINE: PRINT&PROTEST results from last semester, a course dedicated to Human Rights held by MOME Photography MA programme. From the freedom of movement to the right to rest, the zines created in this course cover several thoughts over the broad horizon of freedom and turned out to be sharp, bold, open, radical, and—for all these reasons—charmingly beautiful.

Friday 13th March 2026.
In the last 16 years, every time I have stepped out of the country and admitted where I am from, people have asked me about our political situation. So I decided to answer it properly from my field of expertise. Even though I had a nightmare about being sentenced to prison for this lecture 🙂, it was more than exciting to have my abstract accepted and to have the chance to speak about my research.
In the lecture, I drew attention to two political-legal turning points from the recent past and three theoretical aspects of archives, which became the framework for the presentation and analysis of the chosen case studies: Fortepan, Freedoc, and Outer Space.
❤️I would love to thank all my friends who have recently helped me with their questions, advice, and consultations, as well as by trying to dissuade me from this topic.

It was such a pleasure to organize the 4th WORK IN CONTEXT symposium w/ @mome___photography and host the RIGHT HERE, LEFT NOW section. This oxymoron, for me, on the one hand refers to the politics; on the other hand, it's personal. Right here, left now, like in a dreamlike theatre plot of life. One person comes on the scene, another one goes. New hopes, new roles. A regime comes, and a regime goes. Hopefully. But ruins can remain, and we have to be conscious of where we were coming from and where we are heading.
