sweet summertime at The Stiles. 🌞🍅🥒🌼🐓🌾

the abundance of love and joy in this place..
it’s truly the closest to Heaven I’ve ever felt.
Watching our children grow~ laugh (and fight) as we raise them. Their bond has changed so much- as HaroldGene gets older and wants to only go “faaaaas”. All about the mowers, four wheeler rides, and bikes.
As AloraMae finds herself in her own little world~ all that exists is bows and barbies dancing the days away,

I wouldn’t have it any other way.

We’ve enjoyed and reaped such bountiful fruit from our garden, more and more each year as we learn-
and make mistakes, like continuing to try keeping cilantro alive long enough to make salsa 🤪

Growing ‘maters isn’t all we’ve been growing this season!
We’re working on a full house.
The Lord has blessed us with another bebe. 💞

And as always, my familias annual summer visit that never seems to be long enough.
I’m so thankful and blessed for these years.

As life continues to grow and go on,
I’m reminded how The Lord plan was the best since the beginning.
The Lord lead me straight to Stiles, in the very best way.
Won’t He do it?

summer 💌
celebrating life, love, and community..and a great garden year!
We kicked off spring, birthing our precious baby boy, freely, with God’s hands over us.
We had an intimate elopement with our Pastor and the elders of our church, one evening after a long day of work and Bible study. Our easiest yes, to one another, forever.
The Lord lead me to the man He knew I needed, and I to him.

We celebrated Zach’s brother, Chris, and our new sister, Madison, as they said their vows to one another. The most beautiful Mrs Stiles. 💌

I’ve met some great woman. Woman who love woman. Who honor, show up, and support one another. Mother blessings, making the meals, saying the prayers, speaking the blessings.

I celebrated my birthday back home in Florida, for the first time in five years.. and the best gift of all was finding out my soul sister was expecting a baby GIRL. 💌💗💝💘 oh, the girl hood. May GodBless my precious new niece and sister.

Summer calls for my sisters annual summer trip up to the mountains where we’re all too loud to hear each other, farm chores are always needin’ tendin’ and lots of messy kitchens. All while the kids do crafts, explore, and bicker- with full bellies and fuller hearts.
I had the joy of having my first niece, Angelise, stay with us for the majority of the summer. It seems like yesterday she was 7 and I was 17..wild. I remember what it was like being that age. I’m so proud of her. May God lead her exactly where He has laid His will for her.

My AloraMae Beth turned into a 3️⃣REX! 🦖💗 (yes, this was her second dinosaur birthday party, we may have a third). I’m in such awe with my girl. Her sass, outgoing, assertive, imaginative, witty, and “sure” self. She is my lighthouse.
..and just like that, my boy is growing quicker than a weed.
6 months. “The precious one”.
Mi sapo guapo! mi rubio! 💛

It all seems to go by so quickly.
The Lord has blessed me beyond words to describe.
I will never be able to sum up the goodness of God.
From where I come from- this isn’t what the end result looks like.
I praise Him, daily.
Openly and fully.
It’s because of His mercy,
His plan and provision.

Life lately has been well lived ~
this summer season has been full of surrender in the sweetest of wonders.
I’m in constant awe of the work the Lord is doing in our family’s life.

summer we spent most of our time- trial and error in our massive (too massive, id say) garden 🤣 and looooots of time on the land, just embracing it all.
lots of family visiting and enjoying the time together.
lots of dream making for our homestead . + of course, porch playing.

As I get to sit back and rock my daughter to rest on our porch, I am being stared at by these beautiful bountiful mountains, bodly.
Our days start with matching cups of cafè, listening to the humming birds arrive. Free nature play, free flow and out to the garden we go.
To have the opportunity to watch the world through her lens- it’s such a holy gift. Never in my lifetime did I think I’d ever get this chance to live a life of such wonder.

It’s my truest gift to guide and teach her through these core years, and Godwilling throughout her childhood. Shes taken up such joy in holding chores. From watering her chickens, searching and gathering for eggs, counting and checking seeds, and most of all she l o v e s to bake!
I don’t brag on my AloraMae Beth enough, she is extraordinary. She amazes me with every breath I breathe.
I pray she one day knows how much she teaches me, every day.

“What in the world got you through?”
Her.
All for her, and the next to come.

This land is so special and sacred. Zach’s great, great grandfather tended this land. “K-Bar Ranch” home of clean pedigree polled herford cattle in WNC on over 200 acres.. where the this gulf course + homes now lay.. once was owned by the one and only, Neal Kitchens and his loving wife.
The generation living on, here at now on 10 acres of stunning pasture.. we can’t wait to see what fruit blooms throughout our lifetime together, on this very land.
For now, for today, we’ve sowed in over 40 crowns of strawberries, 4 rows of black beans (iykME.. you know), whole row of beets and carrots, starting our next round of flower and veggie seedlings.. all alongside the next generation of Stiles. 👩🏽‍🌾❤️‍🔥

Four years ago, if you told me I’d be living in such a dream.. I would’ve laughed. Not because it wasn’t what I dreamt of, it’s all I ever wanted.. I just never thought God would chose me.
I come from a differently written life than this.
But every day, he shows me..
it was always Me.
God is soul good.
His timing, His way.
All glory to Him.

We may not know everything or even what we’re doing now.. but if there’s one thing I do know is:
If your heart is in it,
it’s yours.

*a little funny for ya.. I was going to go train last night but instead I wanted to get these berry crowns in the ground while it wasn’t raining.. little did I know I was going to get my full upper body work out in digging out that huge rock* HAHA.

t h i s
this is the very essence of life well lived.
from the salty wind,
the morning woodpecker getting to work nice and early,
and to our Papas spirit, the red cardinal, coming to visit us on the porch, while we sip our café.
being back hOme brings me to realize how purposeful those small things are and how fulfilling they can be.
the little things,
I’ll always miss.
It may be from how the seasons shifting during this time of year
but this has been an awakening time for my spirit.

Love is all around us.
A touch, a smile, a sound away.
Embrace just that.

lots of chickens, love + bread makin’
Ouuuui oui!
We are so eager and excited for spring to join us! 🌞
These last few weeks, we’ve invested time and tears setting up our 2024 garden dreams!
(most of the tears came from garden mapping 😵‍💫) iykyk 🤌🏽

some updates on the farm:

this is our first year using our years worth of compost to fill + turn over our 5 extended garden beds, a big blessing to our soils nutrients this season!

We also tore down our old fence + posts, started getting that put back up!
🌟
We’re got about 30 bulbs of garlic planted + looking mighty fine!
⭐️
we just laid down carrots, onion, + beats.
next will be our second round of taters! 🤭
🌟
We have started red cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, bell peppers, hot peppers, lettuce greens, and many more seedling inside!
🌟
We’re hopeful (me, liv) that we will begin to house our first round of broiler chickens, to process and store for our family this year.
This is a big goal of mine. Not only to cut grocery costs, but to welcome back the ways of living that I believe our family is destined to revive and teach our children, again.

gloomy cold days call for vegan crumble banana muffins with my best girl ❤️‍🔥 (with many taste tests along the way) 🤭

how we do this recipe:

3-4 ripe bananas
1 cup cane sugar
1/4 cup coconut oil
1/2 tsp vanilla
2 cups unbleached flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
 for top crumble:
1/3 cup flour
2 tbsp brown sugar (I used maple + more than called for)
1/2 tsp cinnamon or to hearts desire 🥲
2 tbsp room temp raw butter
