Can’t believe I caught this 😜 There’s a running joke we can’t catch a fish to save our lives, so I decided to Watercolour a mackerel.

I’ve spoken about it before and it still makes me very uneasy to talk about it, but I often have DMs of how I got out of my rut.

4 years ago, I lost my spark, lost my lust for life, gained so much weight, didn’t recognise myself in front of the mirror and I didn’t recognise who I was inside.

Fast forward to now, I’ve lost my weight, I’m really happy, I’ve leaned into art, being creative, socialising and stepping out of my comfort zone. I am now alwaysthe person I wanted to be.

I knew art helped me but these studies just show how real the art effect is. Along side with anti depressants, support from family and friends, losing my weight, no drinking, *complete* man ban - no distractions. And here I am.

You do not have to be good at something to enjoy it! Pick up a hobby, give yourself some time off doom scrolling. And even if you are feeling your best self, give it a go even if you doodle the famous primary school ‘S’ doodle we all used to draw.

@craftandcommonuk is probably wear it all started 🫶🏻
