Hey we’re @hecohouse and this is DUÉ DUÉ. Our passion project started when we wanted to bring color into home. We found ourselves painting 6 pairs of paintings and that’s how DUÉ DUÉ came to life. This pair was inspired by a couple of friends.

Beyond the fact that we both come from creative backgrounds, we realized that our superpowers were polar opposites (!) which is exactly why we work so well together. One of us is obsessed with scalable systems, and the other judges restaurants by the weight of the menu paper (guilty). We joined forces to build a home for brands that need both: The operational roadmap and the art direction.

The Tea Ceremony Origin: London [1/3]

“Third Origin” is about celebrating hybrid identity and shaping it into a living visual language of form, color, and ritual. Rooted in my British and Iraqi heritage, and shaped by the many places I’ve lived, the project explores three everyday ceremonies — tea, backgammon, and smoking. Through personal and collective research, I created objects that embody each ritual, yet together reflect me as the Third Origin. The journey and process are preserved in booklets that accompany the objects.

Tea is more than a drink — it’s a pause. From my grandparents’ working-class homes in London to my Iraqi grandmother’s “balcone” gatherings, tea was both comfort and hospitality. For me, it became matcha in the mornings, a ritual of solitude I claimed as my own.

The collection includes a full tea set — nine cups and matching plates, two milk pourers, and two teapots. Each object is painted with hybrid symbols, weaving together British, Iraqi, and Tel Avivian memories, collective and biographical elements; Cats from Tel Aviv’s streets, pitango fruit from my childhood garden & flying zebras, forming a constellation of belonging.

⁨ Tea season with ‪@palaisdesthes_israel‬ 🍂

עונת התה רשמית החלה, אז הנה 4 סוגי תה וחליטות פייבוריטיות שלי לסתיו:

תה טהיטי • תה ירוק עם וניל ושקדים. טעם סתווי, מתקתק ומלטף.

בבועה שלי • חליטה עם קקאו, ג׳ינסנג ואשווגנדה, שמרגישה כמו שוקו אבל בתה. מעולה לרגע של פוקוס בסטודיו / משרד.

צ׳אי אימפריאל • תה שחור מתובל וקלאסי, באיכות הכי גבוהה שיש. מרגיש כמו חיבוק בכוס. (אני אוהבת להוסיף גם נגיעה של חלב שקדים/שיבולת).

רויבוס הלורדים • חליטת רויבוס עם ברגמוט, בלי קפאין. מרגיש מלכותי ומושלמת לפני השינה.

איזו תה או חליטה אתן.ם הכי אוהבות.ים לשתות בסתיו?

⁨ לפעמים עצירה היא זאת שמחזירה אותנו לתנועה.

יש בי הרבה דרייב. הרבה רעיונות. הרבה דברים שאני רוצה לבנות וליצור. אנרגיה של לטרוף את העולם.
אבל גם המשאבים שלי מתרוקנים לפעמים, ופתאום החשק, הבהירות, האנרגיה קצת מתפוגגים.

החופשה הזאת הזכירה לי שמנוחה היא לא ההפך מאמביציה אלא חלק ממה שמאפשר להמשיך לפגוש אותה עם לב קצת יותר רך.

לשבת לקרוא ספר, מוקפת בירוק, שמש מלטפת, פכפוכי מים, תודעה שקטה, הרגשתי איך כל מערכת העצבים שלי קצת נרגעת.

זה היה נחוץ.
