And just like that, the final day of @brompton_design_district for @l_d_f_official - my seventh year managing this wonderful District ❤️

What an utter pleasure it has been.

For his second year curating Brompton, Alex Tieghi-Walker @tiwa_select brought together 12 exhibitions and projects under the theme Perfectly Imperfect, alongside the brilliant showrooms that make Brompton what it is all year round.

The whole District has felt incredibly alive over the past ten days, but the curated programme in particular has had an energy and warmth as a collective that I would genuinely love to bottle.

Such a pleasure, as always, to work alongside @tiwa_select and @owenolearypr ; @studiovedet on the brilliant graphic identity; Jen Beattie on graphic support; @stu_margetts on general support and the teams at @thelavery and South Kensington Estate who work hard with us to make it all happen.

And a huge thank you to every designer, maker, gallery and showroom who has been part of it.

Today was an incredibly emotional, but truly wonderful day.
Last year, we’d all planned to come to Aberystwyth as a family for a long weekend. Little did we know then that when the time came, we’d be making the trip without Mary, my mother-in-law, who sadly passed away last November.
So, rather than let it be a sad occasion, we decided to make today a celebration of Mary and something she absolutely loved – steam trains.
Mary loved steam railways, so today we were able to place some of her ashes on the train. As the engine worked hard climbing through the beautiful Rheidol Valley towards Devil’s Bridge, her ashes were scattered across the valley.
And what a place for her to be.
A valley with the most incredible views, bluebells in the spring, snow in the winter, and a landscape full of wildlife. Somewhere beautiful that we can return to time and time again and remember her.
A huge thank you to everyone at the Vale of Rheidol Railway for making today so incredibly special for our family. From all of us – including the kids – having the chance to drive a steam engine, to driving Pete Waterman’s model railway, touring the workshops and, finally, being given a Collection X tour, something only a lucky few have had the opportunity to experience.
You made us feel incredibly welcome and gave us a day as a family that we’ll never forget.
Mary would have absolutely loved today.
It was emotional, it was special, and there were plenty of smiles along the way. Most importantly, it felt like the perfect way to celebrate her life and leave a little part of her somewhere she would have loved.

Day at Crufts – The Ultimate Dog Lovers’ Dream!

What an incredible Sunday at Crufts 2025! 🐶✨ We had the best time soaking up the atmosphere, watching the amazing pastoral dog judging, and being in absolute awe of the agility trials – these dogs are next level! Seeing them navigate jumps, tunnels, and weave poles with such speed and precision was just incredible.

One of the real highlights was the medical detection dogs display. It was truly inspiring to see how these intelligent, highly trained dogs are transforming lives, detecting diseases, and providing vital assistance. Such an important cause to support, and it really puts into perspective just how special the bond between dogs and humans is.

We also got to witness the Golden Retriever display team, and honestly, could anything be more wholesome? A team of tail-wagging, happy retrievers performing with such enthusiasm – pure joy to watch!

But, of course, we couldn’t resist spending time with our all-time favourite breed – the Corgi. ❤️ From their fluffy bums to their big personalities, we were completely immersed.

Crufts is always such a celebration of everything we love about dogs – their intelligence, their talent, their loyalty, and the joy they bring to our lives. If you’ve never been, put it on your bucket list!

26.12.22 On Boxing Day we said goodbye to our gorgeous girl BobBob, my best friend, my number 1, my dæmon.

14 years ago, she was the best present I have ever received, picking her up from the cat shelter on New Years Day. My ride or die, we have seen each other through terrific highs and unbearable lows and loved each other unflinchingly and without judgement. She was kind and quirky, gentle and spicy, with the most enormous capacity for love, she was cleverer than all of us. She was and is an extension of my soul and although I can’t imagine life without her, I also feel like she’s still here in my heart. And as my nephew said, she will be until she decides what to come back as, for “Bob has always looked after Auntie Gem and always will do”.

Bobbob, my little BooBoo, you are so loved and always will be. Thank you for everything. ❤️
