Two months ago today I was in New York having emergency surgery to remove my appendix.

This improvisation is special to me because I filmed it exactly one month after my surgery when I stepped back into a studio and danced again for the first time.

Now another month later, I’m starting my second season with @ebbjuniorballet in Pau, France🇫🇷

The past few months have been filled with so many emotions and unexpected turns, but more than anything, reminders not to take movement for granted.

So grateful to @aabsummer for letting me use this beautiful space and helping me find the joy of dancing again❤️ taken in American Academy of Ballet by @gemmaosmandance

The “Mystery” Dancer

This summer I came back to the American Academy of Ballet for the first time not as a student, but as a supervisor. Experiencing AAB from a different perspective was incredibly healing and reminded me why I fell in love with dance in the first place.

In the final week, I started moving again and that’s how the “mystery dancer” behind the mask came to be.

AAB made me fall in love with dance when I was 12 years old, and somehow all these years later, it helped me find my way back to it again.

I’m really grateful for everyone who was part of this special chapter. Here’s to more joy, more memories and continuing to reconnect not only with the people who started it all, but with myself too🫀
