Ani Javian (@anijavian) is a movement artist and educator whose research is rooted in her ideas about humans as storytellers, story-holders, and story-makers. Through choreography, improvisation, and interdisciplinary collaboration, her work considers ways that dance invokes and evokes story through abstraction. Her choreography has been presented in New York, Los Angeles, across the Midwest, Paris, Yerevan, and Bangkok.

gem tantuico (@gemtantuico) is a Filipino-American omovement-based artist and Artistic Director of new name collective (nnc). Raised in New Jersey under Filipino parents, tantuico has always expressed a love to speak and move, especially when met with resistance. They utilize the body as a medium for the soul’s playfulness. People become buildings, environments, metaphors. Stages are playgrounds and an invitation for questioning. tantuico’s work dissects pedestrian movement and brings awareness to effort, often abstracting daily experiences influenced by queer identities. With a head in the clouds and feet on the ground, tantuico works toward a future that dissolves the binary and promotes joyous collaboration – emphasizing the process and celebrating difference. taken in Mignolo Arts Center by @gemtantuico

This is the last installment of the 2025-26 Dollop cohort presented by @subcircleresidency Both evenings will present the work of Jenny Dignan, Tristan Koepke, Jessie Laurita-Spanglet and Anne Tantuico.

Dollop is a three-phase performance series incubating new works by Maine choreographers as it develops over the course of 15 months. Program support provided by Onion Foundation and SPACE.
