Well today did not turn out the way we expected by any means. We headed to McCall early to watch Eli’s friends football game while we waited for his own to start. We brought our fishing poles and everything to enjoy the BEAUTIFUL day today on the lake afterwards.

Unfortunately right after half time, during a defensive play Eli ended up with a broken upper wrist of both the ulna and radius. It was a clean break far from his growth plate so no surgery required. The amazing ER doctor, Orthopedic Surgeon and nurses at St. Luke’s did a wonderful job and reassured us many times that they’d seen this specific break more times than they can count. Not to mention, they were great at keeping Eli calm and made him feel very comfortable. He was SUCH A TROOPER!! The initial shock and adrenaline rush of the break was horrible but he pulled through better than we ever would have expected of a 9 year old. A HUGE thank you to everyone who helped us along the way, to our dear friend Johnah, Nana and Pop for helping us with Kai while we rushed Eli to the hospital.

We’re home, he’s getting rest and we follow up with ortho in a few days. BaileyB (his dog) has stayed by his side since we got back. We love our boy dearly and hate that this happened to him, but we’re glad it wasn’t worse than it is. Here’s to fast healing, my love!! by @gen.jen15

Celebrated the 4th in the mountains! Went paddle boarding and swimming, hiked, enjoyed the hammock and fire in the evenings. Such a wonderful rest from the busy busy day to day. Kai even fell asleep while we were out on the paddle boards and took a nice nap after we spotted some bald eagles soaring above. Tried to take a picture of one perched on the top of the pine, but it was a little too far. Love summer days like this! by @gen.jen15

To my sons- I hope you can one day understand how grateful and blessed I am to be your mother. Never trade your authenticity for another’s approval. Keep on adventuring! I love you both. 🖤 by @gen.jen15

Yesterday was our sweet boys 1st birthday. He’s a true Leo- loud, dramatic, confident, loving and the center of attention. He’s quite difficult to resist! He loves to make you laugh and be loved on. It’s been a fun year, little love. Feliz cumpleaños, Noyolotzin. 🖤

Pialli! I miss this kiddo! He was part of the Fiddle Festival parade today in Idaho where he’s spending time with his Nana and Poppa for the summer. He was a bit worried he wouldn’t get to ride horses like he does here at home every week. Glad he was able to at least ride a pony for a little while! Nimitzlazohtla Noyollotzin 🖤 by @gen.jen15

It’s been a while, and they’re too handsome not to share. Love these guys with my whole being! Kai and Eli LOVED the Bellagio water show. Afterwards, my parents took the kids home and we had a mom & dad night, had Dinner at Javier’s with our BFF’s and called it a night. Simple, but much needed and so fun. Can’t wait to do it again! by @gen.jen15
