The debut single from Phell is finally out in the world. The decision to re-interpret Peter Brown’s “Without love” on the b-side is as much a tribute to Brown’s 1978 album closer as it is to DJ Quik’s original “Quik’s Groove” from 1991. New GP release alert. Been a minute. We’re excited about this one. A breezy debut single produced by label chief @jakeuno for Seattle-based outfit Phell. Tuxedo fans have heard front man and musician Amos Miller (@amelation) from his keyboard work on “Lost Lover”, “On my way” and “Think Twice”. Miller handles vocal duties on the slick stepper “Want you back” and “Without Love”, Phell’s take on a Peter Brown favourite from 1977. Now streaming on all DSP’s.
