This year we were called as a church to “Encounter” God and in the months before this encounter I had been going down a path straying from god and searching for fulfillment in the things of world. Broken hearted,depressed, and without joy I was lacking the foundation I so much needed and desired. Psalm 35:18 reminds me that “ The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”. Though I didn’t know it at the time I was crushed and desperately seeking a way out and when encountering God and in coming to the altar and giving my struggles to him something in me broke and I realized I no longer can rely on my own strength. “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand”
(Isaiah 41:10). So in a leap of faith I decided to rededicated my life to our Lord and Savior. Yes, there will be days I fall short and days I stand tall but either way I promise to try my best everyday to live a life in honor of Jesus’ ultimate sacrifice . by @genesis.c.mitchell
