eye have always been passionate about
what lives in the unseen ~

in the betweens of relationship

what else is present
what is alive
beyond what is noticed

yet colors
invites or compels
bends
our motion
our attention
our devotion

…our living

the atmospheres we move through
breathe with and into each other

the architectures that inform
what we perceive as possible

understories lives here ~

in what passes between
and is carried into story

𝙒𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝘾𝙤𝙮𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙨 𝘾𝙧𝙮

last night the coyotes
split open the dark

their throats be doorway
to marrow and memory
chorus reminding the world
that nothing leaves
without feeding something else
voices braided
into night’s own spine

eye hear them often
have never caught
sacred moment til now
eye hear the cries
become ceremonial rise
the wild blessing
of what must be taken
to keep breath moving

the wild does not kill in cowardice
it does not murder for profit
it does not sanctify cruelty
with flags or scripture
it does not lie
does not coerce

𝘪𝘵 𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘬𝘴 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘵 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦 ~

their song be
the oldest scripture
of this land
feral
ancient
untranslated
rising in me like prayer
for everything dying
that should still be breathing
that life taken in rhythm
is not the same
as life taken in cruelty

this chorus of hunger
gratitude and truth
intertwined and abundant

and the night held it all
without flinching

🖤
