A week into the new season and I’m already missing the joy, whimsy, and warmth of summer. 💛✨ Just me romanticizing golden days, yellow dresses, and generally being a happier little sunflower. 🌻Hoping the next few months fly by as quickly as this summer did. taken in Central Park, New York by @genesis_5.19

Lulu Sanchez Lozano
05/13/20 – 07/04/26

First of her name. Queen of the Sanchez/Lozano household. The heart and soul of our family.

You could be having the best year, feeling like life is finally making sense, like you’re in perfect alignment and everything is falling into place… and then life throws you the curveball. A reminder of how fragile and unpredictable it all is.

On Saturday, July 4th, we had to say goodbye to our beloved Lulu. On America’s 250th birthday, we honored freedom of choice by freeing our baby from the cage her body had become. After being diagnosed with cancer in February, she fought with everything she had. She was brave until the very end.

There are simply not enough words to describe what you meant to Mom, Daddy, Kerry, and me. You were so deeply loved. So adored. So incredibly precious.

I thought I knew what heartbreak felt like, but this has made every other loss pale in comparison.

It’s hard not to feel cheated that we only had six years with you before your time was cut far too short. But if love measured a life, yours was infinite. It’s never just about the quantity of time; it’s about the quality, the joy, and the way you changed us forever. Your paw prints will remain on our hearts for the rest of our lives.

Learning how to keep living without you is something we’re all still trying to come to terms with.

A rescue from Turks & Caicos, you became the brightest star in our lives. As golden, radiant, and beautiful as your spirit was, my Golden Gyal.

We love you more than words could ever say, and we will miss you beyond measure.

To everyone lucky enough to still have their fur babies by their side: hold them a little tighter. Give them endless kisses. Smother them with love. Be loud, be unapologetic, and never miss a chance to show them just how much they mean to you.

Forever our Lulu. 💕🐾 by @genesis_5.19

I brought in 32 surrounded by sunshine, love, and my chosen family. ☀️💕

Everyone in these photos has known me for 15+ years, and it feels like such a blessing to be loved, accepted, supported, and truly seen by people who’ve watched you grow through so many different phases of life; and still continue rooting for you every step of the way.

I’m so grateful to everyone who came out to celebrate my birthday. Seeing everyone mesh so well and enjoy themselves filled my cup in the best way. This trip was full of laughter, inside jokes, joy, and so much love.

Best birthday ever! 🥹✨

Can’t think of a better way to close out Women’s History Month than looking back at Women at Work, a conversation that brought together female founders and leaders in PR and communications to talk about what it really looks like to build, lead, and redefine agency life today.

Earlier this month, we gathered an incredible room of women across the industry for an honest, thoughtful, and deeply energizing conversation, one that extended far beyond the panel and into the connections made throughout the evening.

A huge thank you to our incredible speakers @kanessat @tiff_or_die @melodyserafino for sharing their experiences and perspectives so generously with our community, and our moderator @genesis_5.19!

To our amazing partners who helped bring the evening to life, we’re so grateful for your support in creating such a special experience.

Moments like this are a reminder of how powerful it is when we come together to share, learn, and support one another.

In 2025, I set a goal to do one speaking engagement, either as a moderator or panelist. I did zero… lol. But instead of giving up, I carried that goal into 2026. And it led me to moderating my first panel during Women’s History Month 💫 for @prgirlmanifesto in a true full circle moment. A reminder that delays aren’t denials. Just because you don’t hit a goal on your timeline doesn’t mean you give up on it.

Thank you @itsfatoub for the trust and opportunity ✨
And to the incredible panelists, @kanessat , @tiff_or_die , @melodyserafino , thank you for your honesty, vulnerability, and powerful insights 💫 taken in Fabrik Community Spaces by @genesis_5.19

Behind every great panel is someone guiding the conversation with intention. We’re so excited to have our very own Genesis Lozano @genesis_5.19 moderating Women at Work.

Genesis is a Communications Manager at SoundCloud, where she supports both internal and external storytelling across music, culture, and community. With experience spanning public relations, brand communications, influencer relations, and experiential marketing, she has supported campaigns and activations across media, fashion, and entertainment.

Her work includes collaborations with organizations and brands such as CultureCon, ColorComm, Black Girls in Media, Amazon MGM, Disney Branded Television, Paramount, Topicals, and more. She is also a member of BET’s Communications Ambassador Cohort ’25.

Known for bringing structure, strategy, and heart behind the scenes, Genesis helps build stories and experiences that live at the intersection of culture, creativity, and community.

At Women at Work, she’ll guide our conversation with female PR and communications leaders as we unpack agency ownership, leadership, and building in modern PR.

A year ago today, I took a leap of faith and finally began my pole journey 🤍I was in a place where I felt mentally and physically disconnected from my body.

Through this journey, I’ve learned so much about myself. I’ve grown, healed, and for the first time in a long time, learned what it truly feels like to be comfortable in my own skin. Pole has taught me how to be uncomfortable with the uncomfortable, to look at myself in the mirror every day, try something new, and push past my limits. And for that, I am endlessly grateful.

I’ve traveled, met some of the most incredible women, and found a community that spans across the world. A shared passion brought us together, but the connection goes so much deeper. That sense of sisterhood means everything to me.

From leveling up from intro to intro to L1, I am so proud of myself for committing to this journey and continuing to see it through. A huge shoutout to my pole sensei, @snsbymimi . Thank you for being with me every step of the way since day one. Your patience, honesty, and tough love have shaped me into the dancer I am today. I wouldn’t be here without you.

And to my home studio @sweetnsultrystudio , thank you for creating such a beautiful, supportive community of women from all backgrounds, united by the courage to try something new. What you’ve built is truly special, and I’m so grateful to be a part of it.

One of my biggest blessings of 2025 ✨
So thankful for year one, and I can’t wait to see what year two and beyond brings 🤍 taken in Sweet ‘N Sultry Studio by @genesis_5.19

Last month, for Hispanic Heritage Month, I had the incredible privilege of returning to my mom’s homeland, El Salvador, to celebrate her 5️⃣0️⃣ birthday. It was her first time back since 2011, and she was eager to reconnect with her roots and see how much the country had changed. For me, this journey was an opportunity to connect with a part of my heritage that, as a Black Latina, I’ve often felt disconnected from.

Growing up biracial, it’s easy to feel out of place, even in spaces where you’re meant to belong—especially when you don’t look like the family on your mother’s side. But this trip was different. I fell in love with the beauty of the land that shaped my mother and our family. From stunning volcanoes to breathtaking scenery, I found a side of myself I hadn’t fully embraced before.

Seeing the humble beginnings of my mom and grandparents deepened my appreciation for their strength and sacrifices. Knowing how much they’ve worked, not just for themselves but for future generations, has given me a new sense of gratitude and respect.

I’m beyond grateful to have shared this trip with the woman who gave me life and has always been my champion. I love you, Mommy, and I love El Salvador. I’m proud to claim my Salvadoran heritage. Estoy orgullosa de ser salvadoreña. 🇸🇻🇸🇻❤️ taken in El Salvador by @genesis_5.19
