GENup is a student-led organization working to make education more equitable through policy advocacy, grassroots organizing, and student action.

A major victory for digital wellness education in California. Governor Newsom has officially signed AB 2071, bringing us one step closer to ensuring students have the tools to navigate social media and online safety.

🎉 AB 2071 just passed the California Legislature UNANIMOUSLY and is headed to Governor Newsom’s desk!

Our GENup policy team drafted AB 2071, brought it to the Capitol, and worked with Assemblyman @joshhooverca (author) and Senator @senator_umberg (coauthor) to carry it through both houses — a major step for digital wellness education in California schools.
