Geoff Palmer is one of those punk songwriters we keep going back to.

For years he’s been quietly building one of the most consistent catalogs in punk rock and power pop, writing songs that land instantly and stay there. Hooks that feel obvious only after you’ve heard them, melodies that seem to have always existed.

Oh snap, I missed it yesterday, but our Kodak Flash EP turned one year old (yesterday)! Still pumped about it and grateful to Stardumb Records for releasing it.

Thanks to everyone who’s picked up a copy on vinyl, digital, tape, or streamed it. You rule.

And yes, we’ve got more new music coming throughout the year at random times, for no reason other than it’s fun to make songs and put them out there. That said… sometimes I’m lazy and take forever to get stuff done. Apologies to my awesome bandmates, who are probably wondering what the hell is wrong with me and just want the songs out.

We’re excited to announce that the final night of the Sad Songs & Snow Tires Tour will end at High Noon Saloon in Madison, WI. We closed out the tour there back in 2023, and it was such an epic night of best friend hangs and memories we’ll never forget.

We have a pair of new singles from @geoff_palmer! The punk band drops two fiery, reference laden tracks in Last Call at Mickey’s and I Ain’t No, marking their first release in 3 years.

For the uninitiated, Geoff Palmer has been in various music scenes for decades making fast, in your face music. In this latest round of releases, all that can be said is that he’s having fun.

Last Call at Mickey’s is built in the image of classic 90s/2000s punk tracks, leaning on short vocal melodies and high flying riffs. The track feels very nostalgic, like it would have been played over a sped up montage in the movie Eurotrip or Malcolm in the Middle. Like any good theme, it checks in at under 2 minutes and centers itself around a great chorus with no excess left over. It’s catchy as hell, full of local references, and would be a shame if it didn’t make it into regular late night rotation on the Mickey’s Touchtunes.

I Ain’t No leans even harder in the garage punk direction, blasting chords at you left and right while he decries fans of Ween, Creed, and Tweed on top of driving 1s and 2s. It’s a slice of punk tradition reinvented in a modern form without any staleness whatsoever.
