Sahar Dehkordi, known as Geopoet, is a Tehran-based producer, DJ, and sound designer. Her work explores the links between geography, memory, and bass culture, drawing on the textures of urban life and its hidden rhythms. Moving through dubstep, bassline, ukg, and experimental electronic music, she builds soundscapes that balance tension and emotion with precision and depth. She hosts the monthly radio show Virgin Leyla on Komrad Radio, where she connects local and global scenes through a shared language of bass and atmosphere.

Tracklist:
Jubley – Warehouse Raffle [Fodder Records]
Holloway – Down in the Middle (Main Phase Remix) [Nerve Collect]
Tucky – Ruffneck DJ [Underground Sound]
Fonzo – CTX [Method 808]
Kraang – Ello [Odd One Records]
Edward White – Prince Rupert’s Drop [What To Do]
PJ Statham – Here4thaparty [In The House Records]
Higgo – Dope Mutha Fucka
DJ Q – All That I Could [Local Action]
Gemi – RNFY [unknown]
Loopcrashing – So Good (UKG Mix) [Solid Breaks Records]
Mortar Pestle – Girls Night Out in Berlin [Delicate Records]
Fake Two Piece – Silly Mime [Incurzion Audio]
Body Logic – Unkind Cut [Maison Fauna]
Saint Abdullah – Unreleased [The Trilogy Tapes]

Geopoet’s mix pulses with a vibrant energy that blends raw underground bass, rhythmic UK garage influences, and textured electronic experimentation. It weaves gritty, percussive beats with melodic and atmospheric layers, creating a dynamic flow that feels both dancefloor-ready and intriguingly complex. The mix balances driving rhythms and deep basslines with moments of subtle mood shifts, delivering a sound that’s immersive, forward-thinking, and charged with an adventurous spirit. October Around the World takes us to Iran, a country where electronic music exists under strict censorship, yet artists continue to carve out space for freedom through sound. Despite surveillance and bans, an underground culture thrives in Tehran, built on resilience, creativity, and community.

A cornerstone of this movement is Deep House Tehran, founded in 2014 and led by figures like @nesaazadikhah Nesa Azadikhah. What started as an online platform for mixes and podcasts has become an international voice for Iranian electronic music, amplifying artists whose work often cannot be heard openly at home. It has also been crucial in supporting women, who face some of the heaviest barriers in the scene; their presence alone a powerful act of resistance.

The role of women is central here. DJs and producers like those in our October lineup embody persistence and protest, reminding us that music can carry stories of struggle, identity, and survival far beyond borders. Hosting them is more than a celebration, it’s a way to amplify voices that continue to fight for freedom.

This month, expect sets that channel the courage and creativity of Iran’s underground: music as resistance, music as community, music as freedom. by @geopo.e
