Happy Mother’s Day. I been playing with her in church since I was 15, I was booty at first, but my mom’s fierce attitude kept me trying.

It all started bcuz my mom paid $450 of Banneker High School Marching band dues. She say “I just paid $500 for you to be a drummer in the band, you best get on these drums, idc if you only play the 1 on the bass and the 3 on the snare”

She fought for me to play the drums in church despite my skill. Every Sunday.

But that was 5 years ago.

“Dear mama, you are appreciated”
