Sarah & Brendan’s wedding at the @renbattlehouse in downtown Mobile was one for the books.

A packed dance floor, nonstop energy, and a crowd that came ready to celebrate. Nights like this are why we love what we do. Planning a wedding? Let’s make it a party.

When the music is this good, the whole room is on fire 🔥! Had the pleasure of filling in for my brother Kujho Carr at this incredible celebration. And you know mentoring is special to me, so I brought Joshua Currie with me 🎤🎶 From playing the hits to getting everyone involved, it was a night to remember. Big shoutout to the wedding party and guests for bringing the energy! #DJGeorgeChuck #WeddingVibes by @georgechuck

Mississippi Gulf Coast, let’s make sure our neighbors can get to the polls. We’re recruiting volunteers to help provide rides on Election Day in 41 Counties across Mississippi.

We REALLY need someone to drive in George County. If you can give someone a lift—or know someone who needs one—visit MSMOVE.org or call 662-205-6683.

If you encounter a problem at the polls, call 1-888-601-8683 for help. People first. People always. #BlackWhiteBlueOrPurple #BeANeighbor highlight by @georgechuck

In honor of some schools actually having Awards Day, we’d like to take a moment to recognize Jaxon Patterson for his accomplishments! 🏆

While his school may not have an Awards Day celebration, and his awards were simply sent home in his folder🤦🏾‍♂️. But don’t worry, Jax Jax, WE’LL give you the recognition you deserve!

Keep flourishing, keep excelling, and keep being the amazing little boy you are! ✊🏾 Just know that even when others fail to acknowledge your hard work, you have a family who will ALWAYS show up, clap the loudest, bark like you da Bruhz already, and celebrate EVERY accomplishment!

They may not make a big deal, but WE ALWAYS WILL!

THE TOUGALOO STANDARD IS LIVE.

What started as an idea to create something worthy of Tougaloo’s history, culture, and alumni has grown into a collection built around the things that make The Loo unmistakably OURS.

The soccer Home Kit. The TC cap. “Dear to Us.” The Loo. Woodworth Chapel. The historic gate. Every detail was designed with Tougaloo in mind.

IMPORTANT FOUNDERS’ WEEK INFO:
The Tougaloo Standard apparel collection is PRE-ORDER ONLY.

I will NOT be selling apparel onsite at the Tougaloo Tailgate, so if there’s a jersey, cap, hoodie, crewneck, polo, cardigan, windshirt, or other piece you want, please place your order in advance at www.igotitmade.us.

The Tougaloo Standard Heritage 3-Pin Collection will be the only collection item available for purchase onsite, and you’ll be able to find those at the Mississippi MOVE tent during the tailgate. Quantities of the pin collection are limited.

I wanted this collection to feel like more than something you wear for one weekend. These are pieces inspired by our history, our campus, our traditions, and the pride that follows us long after we leave the gates.

Collegiate. Classic. Committed.

Sometimes I write.

Sometimes I shoot.

Sometimes I get to do both.

Walking through H Street with my camera gave me a chance to slow down and pay attention to the things that usually disappear in a crowd—the way people looked at each other, the families moving together, the style, the music, the joy, the small conversations happening between everything else.

That’s one of the things I love most about photography.

It allows me to decide what deserves another look.

These images are part of my reflection on a weekend that took me from Media Row at @cbcfinc 55 to the middle of @hstfest—from structured conversations about leadership and policy to Black people simply living, laughing, dancing, parenting, creating and being together.

The article tells the story in words.

These photographs tell another version of it.

This is Washington through my eye.

Was trying to put our creative director Lo on Albanese gummies while we were at the CBC conference in DC and this happened 🤣. Saw my whole life flash in .03 seconds lol.
