I am excited to share with you part of my ongoing project, "The Golden Ear."

The name of the project is inspired by the life of Anthony, who started the story of monasticism at his hands. He is its founder and the father of all monks in the whole world. The story begins when he was in the church and heard the words of Christ in the Gospel of Matthew "If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me."
Those words found an echo in his golden ears and changed the life of Saint Anthony, paving the way for the movement of monasticism in the world.

This project is a journey to explore the Coptic Orthodox monastic life in Egypt. It seeks to understand the daily routine and spiritual practices of modern-day monks, as well as what life was like in Qalali in the middle of the desert and on the mountains.

The pictures are from the Monastery of Saint Anthony, the first and oldest monastery in the world, in Mount Galala - Galala, after the word Qalali, i.e. the residence of the monks - in the Red Sea Governorate, Egypt.

" Even through the darkest days, sunshine patiently awaits "

Three months before I enlisted in the army, I captured this picture. True to my usual practice, I refrained from hastily sharing it, opting instead to immerse myself in the emotions it invoked. Following my stint at the army training center and the subsequent return to my regular life, I was taken aback by news I had been oblivious to events unfolding in Palestine, which I had not kept track of during my extended absence.

Realizing the urgency of expressing my newfound awareness, I found no better medium than this picture. Upon scrutinizing it, I discerned concealed details that begged expression, such as a woman subtly placing her hand behind her back, casting an angelic shadow, while a hand presses her against a wall adorned with a poetic depiction of sunrise over a beach. Beneath this captivating scene lies the key to a home, encapsulating layers of meaning waiting to be unveiled.
