How to stop opponents from posturing and standing in your closed guard (Gi or No Gi).

The solution isn’t magic. It’s awareness.

If they start to posture, my guard will open on their terms if I don’t adjust. So when I don’t have a grip, I can mirror my feet with my hands.

The Rules:

• Check your feet: Which leg is crossed on top?

• Match your hands:

— If Right Leg is over Left → Keep Right Hand closer to you (palm up). Left hand covers.

— If Left Leg is over Right → Keep Left Hand closer (palm up). Right hand covers.

The Action:

As they stand, keep the mirrored hand structure. Use your bottom leg to actively pull your knees to your chest.

One active leg creates better control than trying to force both at the same time.

Get a grip on the situation you’re in first, then your opponent.

If you don’t have grips, don’t overextend yourself and beat yourself.

Always remember, I got your back.

Competing Sunday in Nashville. Time to put the work to the test. 🔥

Countless rounds, hard practices, and a team that pushes me every day. Grateful for the preparation and excited to step on the mats at the Nashville Open.

Bring the pressure. Stay relentless. Chase the finish. 😤🤼‍♂️

Head to head. Fully present. Ready for the battle. 🔥

You can respect the man across from you and still believe in yourself completely. These are the moments I train for—and I’m grateful every time I get to step out there and compete.

Respect the legend. Believe you belong. Rise to the occasion. 🥇

A Pan American final against a legend brings a different kind of energy. The crowd, the pressure, the history standing across from you, you feel all of it. But when the match starts, you have to trust your preparation and compete with the belief that you’ve earned your place right there.

This photo captures that moment—and everything happening in my corner. Coaches, friends and family leaning forward, calling out, holding their breath, living every exchange with me. Looking at their faces, I see the tension, the hope, and the belief we carried into that final together.

They know the work behind this moment because they were part of it. Every adjustment, every hard round, every conversation that helped me believe I could meet this challenge.

📸 - @of.ourselves thank you for capturing this moment

A few highlights from an unforgettable run at No-Gi Pans. I was able to defeat the defending Pan American Champion in the semifinals and a multi-time World Champion in the finals to bring home my first Black Belt Pan American title. 🥇

Thank you to my coaches, training partners, teammates, sponsors, friends, and everyone who continues to believe in and support me.

The mission never changes: keep showing up, keep improving, and keep pushing through whatever stands in the way

Mobility matters! 🧘‍♂️🥋

Stretching and mobility work might not be the most exciting part of training, but it’s a huge part of staying healthy, moving better, and performing at your best. Thank you so much to @recreeated for getting me ready these last few weeks for the No-Gi Pan tournament.

Whether you’re training BJJ, wrestling, MMA, or just trying to feel better day to day—take care of your body so it can keep doing what you ask of it.

A few minutes of mobility today can make a big difference tomorrow. 💪

If you are in the GA area I would highly suggest sending Cree a Message and book a session with her. You absolutely should add these stretches to your routine!
