I concede! His name is EiSENstein, but he sure does have similar hair to Einstein! Enjoy this spark notes version of the importance of 1920’s Soviet Montage filmmaking! Battleship Potemkin (1925) + Live Score ft. @georgesarahmusic Sunday, September 27th at 7:00pm George Sarah will be performing his new score for Sergei Eisenstein’s groundbreaking 1925 silent film Battleship Potemkin, now re-imagined with string quartet, vocal quartet, and synths/electronics. “When they are fed rancid meat, the sailors on the Potemkin revolt against their harsh conditions. Led by Vakulinchuk, the sailors kill the officers of the ship to gain their freedom. Vakulinchuk is also killed, and the people of Odessa honor him as a symbol of revolution. Tsarist soldiers arrive and massacre the civilians to quell the uprising. A squadron of ships is sent to overthrow the Potemkin, but the ships side with the revolt and refuse to attack.” For this event, doors will open at 7:00pm (seating is not assigned). The film will begin at approx. 7:30pm. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to experience one of cinema’s boldest works with a live score crafted for today’s audience. 🎟️: Tickets available online or at the box office. 🔗: https://arttheatrelongbeach.org/ by @georgesarahmusic
I lost my cat Mymo today. He was truly a unique and loving feline. I use to be allergic but some how when he got placed at my house I got over it. He followed me everywhere and he loved people as well as other cats. He even would step in and break up a cat fight when they happened. Until we meet again rest well my friend. by @georgesarahmusic
I’m practicing 2-3 hours every other day. Since I got my new Rickenbacker bass we were only able to do one concert before Covid. I’m doing mostly scales and old prog riffs I learned when I was in my teens. I’ve also been composing on bass and have several pieces written. Its safe to say it going to be a dark wave record. But who knows. #bass #bassguitar #rickenbacker #practice #homestudio #progrock #darkwave #vans #vansslipon #rickenbackerbass #musician by @georgesarahmusic

Grateful to be a guest today on @klbpfm radio in Long Beach on Mornings on the Beach with Danny Lemos / Mike Stark / Melanie Rae. The segment will air this Saturday and Sunday morning Sept 26 and 27 at 8AM for you early birds, or night owls. You can listen online at https://www.klbp.org We went deep about my upcoming performance at the @arttheatrelongbeach live score/screening for Sergei Eisenstein’s 1925 silent classic Battleship Potemkin, it’s got a 100% Rotten Tomatoes. Sunday Sept 27, at 7PM Tickets at Art Theatre Long Beach and there’s also a link on my bio. I’ll be joined by string quartet, vocal quartet and myself on keyboards/electronics. Sergei Eisenstein’s groundbreaking 1925 silent film Battleship Potemkin, now re-imagined with string quartet, vocal quartet, and synths/electronics. Known for bridging electronic, classical and chamber music traditions, Sarah brings his unique sonic voice to this cinematic masterpiece into a multi-sensory experience. The film charts the 1905 uprising aboard the Russian battleship Potemkin, a cinematic landmark whose montage, rhythm and emotional energy still resonate. Under Sarah’s score, the visuals are echoed and amplified: the strings underscore dramatic tension and camaraderie; the voices give human edge to mass uprising; the electronics add depth and contemporary resonance. The result is an event where silent-film history meets live music vitality. This isn’t just a screening—it’s a concert, a revival, and a moment of connection between film, sound, and live presence. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to experience one of cinema’s boldest works with a live score crafted for today’s audience. 100% Rotten Tomatoes! #longbeachmusic #silentfilm #arttheatrelb by @georgesarahmusic

A few announcements! First I would like to thank everyone who listened to my album Adagio. It passed 2 million streams this week on Spotify. I know there are artists who get 2 million in a day, but it feels like a lot to me, and I’m grateful. I get excited when I see that there’s been one stream, so I guess it’s just a number. Secondly, I am excited to share the news that Adagio will be released on double vinyl as well as CD on San Diego-based label Curious Electricity and orders will begin soon. Like maybe in less than a week or two weeks. Both formats will feature an unreleased song called Drift featuring vocals by Sarah Folkman. It was my personal favorite T.H.C. song and when we performed live we normally closed the set with this piece. It was recorded in Canada as part of a recording session but was not included on the initial release. Both vinyl and CD will come with lyrics, photos and, being a reissue, it will be close to the original artwork and sleeve. #triphop #drumnbass #electronica #losangelesmusic #buffythevampireslayer by @georgesarahmusic
