The long awaited turtle post :) When turtles lay eggs they are buried in the sand and hatch on their own and swim to the ocean. Lots of barriers are in their way such as people poaching the eggs and hungry animals. In order to eliminate that barrier we built a sanctuary in Bali to transport new eggs for a safe place to grow where they will hatch and then be returned to the ocean. This prevents the already endangered species from becoming extinct. Above are some pictures showing the process and the turtles we are ultimately hoping to protect. I can’t even express how beautiful Bali is outside the touristy parts and am honored to have been part of such an amazing program.
